Every childhood is worth fighting for. This is our belief. It drives us. And it inspires our Communications team to find ever-more creative ways to promote our work and share how people can get involved in making a difference to children’s lives. Join us as a Video Creative and create work that makes a real difference to children and families.

Intro to the team

The NSPCC’s Brand and Content team create compelling, relevant content for our audiences. Informed by channel and creative expertise, the team are focussed on delivering practical advice and support to keep children safe.

The Creative team sit within Brand and Content, providing a range of services, advice and creative expertise for the wider organisation related to campaigns, services, social media, copywriting, web content and organic social.

The Creative Team’s focus is to:

  • lead the development of the organisation’s brand and content strategy and creative execution.
  • tell a clear and inspiring story of what we do and the impact we have as a charity
  • develop, deliver, and optimise content for our audiences across all channels – digital and physical; paid, earned and owned.

Reporting to the Creative Director and supporting the wider Creative team, this role will ensure our video content is relevant, engaging and tailored to audience and channel.

About this role

This role is a fantastic opportunity for someone comfortable with both hands-on video creation and commisioning externally.

The Creative Team responds to a huge variety of video briefs, spanning across all forms of social content (paid and upaid), marketing campaigns, TV commercials, celebratory videos for events or pitches, case studies, services films used directly with the children and families we support. This role could work across any of those briefs, and involves deploying a combination of hands-on creative skill (ideate / shoot / edit / potentially motion graphics) as well as commissioning or overseeing video production through external suppliers.

You would be working alongside other creatives (designers, copywriters, production, organic social, web content) – coming up with ideas, feeding in on best-practice, overseeing or getting hands-on with production. We’re always pushing for interesting and new ways to bring our comms to life, making our content relevant and engaging for audiences. You’d be working to brief, budget and schedule, but with considerable room for creative input and ideation.

This role is open to anyone across the UK, available for office (based in Shoreditch, London), hybrid or home working. You’d also be eligible for a generous selection of benefits (see Benefits Booklet alongside Job Description), pension offer, and various opportunities for flexible working. Candidates who work or live within central London would be eligible for London weighting (+£3,366 pa), candidates who are home working would be eligible for Home working allowance (+£500 pa).

About you

We’re looking for a candidate with

  • Creative flair and a ‘self-starter’ attitude; not afraid to make suggestions or get stuck in.
  • Experience in hands-on creation of video assets, especially for social channels.
  • Comfortable using the Adobe CC suite (some combination of Premiere, After Effects, Adobe Express, Photoshop, Illustrator) or similar.
  • Some practical photography and shooting (DSLR / phone / similar) skills preferable.
  • Experience working with and commissioning external production.
  • Experience working with budgets and scheduling
  • Ability to translate objectives and audience insight from a brief into strong video content.
  • Consistently delivers to high standards with a strong attention to detail whether responding to reactively or within planned timeframes.

Join us and you’ll become part of a team that cares about the work they do and the people they work with. You’ll discover opportunities to grow, along with challenges and a shared purpose that’ll bring the best out. All while creating meaningful work that makes a real difference to children and families across the UK.
