Brighton College is one of England’s leading schools and the oldest public school in Sussex. The College comprises the Senior School, educating 1,000 pupils aged 13–18, and the Lower School, educating 100 pupils aged 11–13. The Brighton College family of schools also includes Brighton College Prep School, St Christopher’s and Handcross Park, educating a further 1,150 children aged 3 to 13. Job Description We are seeking a dynamic individual with a passion for media, marketing and communications. Working in a busy environment, the successful candidate will demonstrate a willingness and ability in running target orientated marketing campaigns while at the same time being charming, personable and trustworthy with external audiences. In summary, we will be looking for Knowledge and experience of using Content Management Systems to update the website Flexibility and initiative within a small and busy team to support where there is most need Willingness to take back-office and presentational front-of-house roles Diligence about process and procedural tasks and an eye for detail. Experience of databases, Microsoft Office suite, systems and processes Ability to remain positive and resourceful under pressure and assurance to prioritise the work-load Strong organisational and project management skills Charm to deal with the internal and external audiences Ability to work independently and efficiently in order to meet Departmental goals Discretion, confidentiality and sensitivity to the culture of the College and in relationships with all College employees Desirable skills and attributes Knowledge and use of Google Analytics & Hootsuite Previous experience of using email marketing tools such as Mail Chimp, Dot Mailer etc. Good analytical skills Experience of graphic design (some knowledge of Photoshop and InDesign would be useful) Experience of photography for digital media Knowledge of video editing would be useful Experience of the independent education sector Person Specification This role would suit someone who has a positive, creative and imaginative outlook, excellent IT and social media capabilities and excellent organisational skills with the ability to handle and prioritise multiple projects in a busy and exciting environment. Experience should demonstrate knowledge and experience of using web Content Management Systems, familiarity with social media scheduling systems such as Hootsuite, and a knowledge of the principle of good digital copywriting. A willingness to engage with the College community as well as the marketing office is essential, while at the same time being charming, personable and trustworthy with external audiences. We will also look for an ability to operate with a degree of flair. Experience which proves both flexibility and focus is therefore essential; experience of marketing and social media in a school or institution is desirable.
