Reports to: Senior Social Media & Marketing Assistant (Sr. SMMA)

What You'll Be Doing
This role is a mix of creativity, organization, strategy, storytelling, and digital housekeeping. You'll help make sure that whether someone finds Wise Owl through Google, our website, Facebook, Instagram, or another platform, they see an accurate and engaging representation of who we are.
You'll help:
- Maintain and update the Wise Owl website by regularly reviewing website content, making updates to staff information, services, promotions, announcements, photos, educational resources, hospital information, and other content as needed.
- Routinely check the website and other digital platforms for outdated information, broken links, old promotions, incorrect details, or areas that need improvement.
- Create engaging content including photos, graphics, educational posts, interactive stories, patient success stories, hospital spotlights, promotions, and more.
- Maintain a year-at-a-glance marketing calendar that coordinates social media campaigns with hospital promotions, events, and initiatives.
- Design, schedule, and maintain approximately 2–3 posts per week across Facebook, Instagram, and other applicable platforms, including educational content, promotions, weekly hospital/patient spotlights, employee celebrations etc.
- Develop captions, marketing materials, campaign ideas, radio advertisements, and other creative content that sounds and feels like Wise Owl.
- Help with radio advertising, writing and updating scripts as needed and coordinate recording and submission of commercials.
- Coordinate with team members and departments to collect photos, stories, patient updates, educational ideas, and other content worth sharing.
- Support the Owl Be There For You fund through advertising and marketing collaboration work with the fund organizer to promote eligible cases, fundraising efforts, and events.
- Professionally respond to appropriate comments and reviews while representing Wise Owl's mission, culture, and core values.
- Track engagement and performance using Facebook, Instagram, Google, Yelp, Review Tree, and other available analytics.
- Use engagement, review, and client-interaction data to help improve future campaigns and marketing strategies.
- Work with our marketing partners to help maintain relationships and coordinate projects with partners such as Thrive Media Group, Covetrus Care Plans, The Connect Guam, MWR, and others.
- Meet regularly with the Sr. SMMA to review results, brainstorm ideas, and develop future marketing goals.
- Assist with or cover Social Media/Marketing duties when another member of the team is unavailable.
Skills You'll Get to Build
You do not need to walk into this role already knowing everything. This is an opportunity to learn and develop skills in:
- Website content management and maintenance
- Social media strategy and campaign planning
- Content creation and storytelling
- Facebook, Instagram, and Google analytics
- Review Tree and online reputation management
- Marketing performance reporting
- Graphic and promotional content development
- Radio advertising and script writing
- Brand management and community engagement
What matters most is that you're creative, dependable, organized, comfortable learning new things, and excited about finding ways to show our community what makes Wise Owl special.
A Few Important Expectations
Social media loves spontaneity—but good marketing needs organization too.
Educational and promotional posts for the upcoming month should be planned and scheduled by the Sunday before the first of the month, and the marketing calendar should be kept current as hospital priorities and promotions change.
Because this role works with multiple departments, you'll also need to be comfortable asking people for content, following up, meeting deadlines, and turning ideas into finished posts.
This Might Be For You If...
You regularly see something happening in the hospital and think, “We should post that.”
You enjoy taking photos, writing, designing, brainstorming, organizing ideas, or figuring out why one post gets 47 likes and another gets 347.
Most importantly, you want a chance to develop a new skill set while helping our community see the people, patients, personality, and purpose behind Wise Owl Animal Hospital.
