The Jewish Community Centre of Greater Vancouver (JCC) is a non-profit community centre whose mission is to provide leadership in cultural, recreational, educational and social activities. While we are the centre and heart of the Jewish community, we are open to all and also serve the community at large in the Oakridge area of Vancouver.
Position Summary:
We are looking for a temporary, part-time Social Media Manager who will create content and manage the social media channels for the entire organization. The ideal candidate will have experience creating content for previous organizations, be a big picture thinker, detail-oriented implementer, and passionate about industry best practices. To be successful, the candidate will need to create social media content that promotes all the diverse departments operating within the organization through a unified design and voice. This means you will need strong analytical skills to transition departmental marketing needs into executable digital tactics which are aligned with the overall strategic plan. The Social Media Manager will report to the Director of Marketing & Communications.
Key Areas of Responsibility include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Create high-quality content around JCC and its programs while maintaining brand consistency throughout all channels.
- Produce short-form video, product demos, social posts, stories and longer-form content.
- Develop and execute social media channel strategies across X, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.
- Develop relationships with JCC affiliates, other local Jewish organizations, and relevant influencers.
- Track and monitor performance/engagement analytics, test new ideas, and continuously improve what we’re doing.
- Publicize activities and events through various platforms.
- Works directly with the Director of Marketing & Communications and JCC program departments to support social media needs and social media management standards.
Qualifications
You should have:
- Degree or diploma in marketing, communications or related field with specialization in social media.
- Strong video editing and content production skills in Canva or other editing software.
- Proficient in social media scheduling tools such as Later, Hootsuite or similar.
- Excellent writing and storytelling ability.
- Experience professionally managing and growing social media accounts.
- A strong understanding of what performs across modern social platforms.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently while also collaborating with colleagues.
