About podium iq
AI models now decide who gets recommended, considered and chosen. We measure how enterprise brands show up inside those answers, score them against the competitors that actually appear, and turn the finding into a content plan. Then we ship the content. Most of this category stops at the dashboard - we don’t, which is why our clients are financial institutions, global consumer technology brands, national regulating bodies, and major consulting firms.
The role
We’re building a roster of freelance writers we tap as enterprise work comes in.
Every brief you receive traces back to a specific opportunity podium found: a query where our client is invisible, a competitor winning a comparison, a topic with citation authority sitting unclaimed. You’ll know the target queries, the intent, the structure, and the sources before you start. What the brief can’t give you is the judgment, and that’s what we’re hiring.
You'll write for brands whose customers are making real decisions about money, technology, and the things they care about. Some briefs need nothing more than your craft. Others need you to go find the answer, interview a subject matter expert, or dive into secondary research until the content has something worth saying.
What you'll do
- Write website copy, articles, FAQs, and supporting content from platform-derived briefs, built to be found in search and cited in AI answers.
- Interrogate the brief before you write it. If the angle is wrong or the source material is thin, say so early.
- Research properly. Read the client's material, understand their market, and get to the substance underneath the query.
- Interview client subject matter experts when a piece needs primary insight, and occasionally walk a client through your work.
- Work with our strategists on sprint timelines, turning quality around at pace.
- Own your own quality control. Work arrives ready for client review.
What you bring
- Five or more years writing professionally, with a portfolio that shows range and rigour.
- Experience writing for SEO and GEO. You understand search intent, structure, internal linking, and source signals that get content cited in AI answers.
- Command of what good actually is. You can explain why a piece works, and you can tell when a draft is competent and forgettable.
- Research instinct. You go looking for the specific, the concrete, and the thing nobody else bothered to find out.
- Comfort in front of a client. You can run an SME interview and get the good material out of someone who thinks they have nothing to say.
- Speed with judgment intact.
- A clear-eyed relationship with AI tooling. Use whatever helps you. What we are looking for underneath it is your own research, your own angle, and the taste to know when a draft has gone generic. That gap is the entire value of hiring a writer right now.
Where you specialize
We work across sectors and briefs will move you between them. Range across several is rare, depth in one is enough to get on the roster. We're actively looking for depth in:
- Consumer financial services. Writing about money for real people, inside regulatory constraints.
- Consumer brands and conversion. Writing that carries someone through a decision, from first curiosity to the moment they act, across retail, sport, and consumer products.
- B2B and enterprise technology. Writing for buyers who know more than you do about their own problem.
- Product marketing. Turning a feature into a reason to care.
The details
Freelance, project-based, open to writers anywhere in Canada. The rate is $70 to $90 per hour depending on experience, location, and specialization.
Roster writers are engaged per project as enterprise work comes in, so we don’t guarantee volume or ask for exclusivity. What we commit to a clear brief, a fair rate, fast decisions, and clarity about what’s coming. What we expect from those we onboard is accountability to the deadline and to the standard, without supervision. Sound like you? Here’s how to apply.
