WoodmenLife is looking for a Social Media Marketing Intern to join our team!

WoodmenLife is seeking a Social Media Marketing Intern to join our team in Omaha, Nebraska to support our marketing efforts through content development, social media management, reporting, and audience engagement activities. This position provides hands-on experience in social media marketing, content strategy, brand storytelling, campaign execution, and analytics.

Our 10-week Summer Internship Program strives to foster a dynamic and innovative work environment by integrating interns who bring fresh perspectives and skills to our organization, contribute to value-added work, and enhance our talent pipeline. We are looking for someone to:

  • Participates in the WoodmenLife internship and leadership development activities.
  • Completes a capstone presentation highlighting internship project accomplishments, skill development, and key learnings.
  • Researches social media trends, audience preferences, industry best practices, and competitor activity.
  • Assists with content development, including writing captions, identifying visual assets, and supporting campaign concepts.
  • Supports planning and implementation of social media campaigns.
  • Monitors social media platforms and assists with community engagement activities.
  • Assists in maintaining social media content calendars and planning tools.
  • Assists with social listening, performance reporting, and analytics tracking.
  • Prepares reports and recommendations that support social media strategy and organizational goals.
  • Participates in team meetings and contributes creative ideas for audience engagement and brand storytelling.

We Need Someone Who Is:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Advertising, Digital Media, or a related field.
  • Rising Junior, Senior, or graduate student with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • Strong written communication and content creation skills.
  • Familiarity with major social media platforms and digital marketing principles.
  • Strong creativity, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze information and draw meaningful conclusions from data.
  • Experienced creating or managing social media content for school, work, volunteer, or extracurricular organizations.
  • Ability to craft clear, concise, and effective prompts to get accurate results from generative AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot.
  • Familiar with AI-powered work tools (e.g., Copilot) for content development, data analysis, and productivity enhancement.
  • Demonstrates ability to leverage AI technologies to streamline workflows, promote fair and unbiased work practices, and coach teams on safe, ethical, and effective AI use.
  • Understands the responsible use of AI, including data privacy, security, and ethical considerations.
  • Meets attendance and punctuality expectations in accordance with supervisor and WoodmenLife policy requirements.
  • Passion for making an impact in local communities
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.
