This is a hands-on role for someone who is equally comfortable filming on an iPhone, editing a Reel, planning a content calendar, and identifying the next great story before anyone else does.

What You'll Do

Content Creation

  • Capture photo and video content across Nch'ḵay̓ and our operating businesses.
  • Create engaging social-first content including Reels, TikToks, Stories, carousels, photography and short-form video.
  • Edit video and photography using industry-leading tools.
  • Write compelling captions that align with each brand's voice.
  • Stay ahead of social trends while ensuring content remains authentic to our organization and community.

Social Media Management

  • Manage day-to-day social media execution across multiple brands and channels.
  • Develop and maintain monthly content calendars.
  • Schedule and publish content.
  • Monitor performance and recommend opportunities to improve engagement and reach.
  • Support community management by monitoring comments and messages and escalating issues when needed.

Storytelling

  • Build relationships across the organization to uncover meaningful stories.
  • Attend community events, project milestones, employee activities, and business initiatives to capture content in real time.
  • Work closely with communications, marketing, community engagement and business teams to bring campaigns to life.
  • Help identify new storytelling opportunities that showcase the work and impact of the Squamish Nation and Nch'ḵay̓.

Innovation

  • Stay current on emerging social platforms, content formats, creator tools and AI technologies.
  • Continuously explore new ways to improve efficiency and elevate content quality.
  • Experiment with new ideas while measuring what resonates most with our audiences.

What You'll Bring

  • 3+ years of experience creating content and managing social media for a brand or organization.
  • Exceptional photography and short-form video creation skills.
  • Experience editing content using tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, Canva, Premiere Pro or similar platforms.
  • Strong understanding of Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok and emerging platforms.
  • Excellent writing and storytelling skills.
  • Strong planning and organizational abilities with the ability to manage multiple brands and priorities.
  • Comfortable working independently and proactively identifying content opportunities.
  • Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel throughout the Lower Mainland to capture content.
