Summary of Position
The Senior Manager, Social Media sets the strategic vision for our social presence, building an ownable, unmistakable brand point of view across every channel and translating it into a content system the team can execute against day to day. This role strategically programs content, develops ownable content series and a distinct aesthetic, and keeps the brand consistently ahead of trend and culture. The Senior Manager owns performance rigor across the social portfolio, leads the brand’s expansion into new channels including YouTube and Pinterest, and manages a team of two. This is a strategy-first role with a clear path to Director within two years for the right candidate.
Principle Accountabilities:
• Set and own cross-channel social strategy across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, and emerging platforms, translating brand and marketing priorities into a distinct, ownable social point of view.
• Strategically program content: develop ownable content series, franchises, and a consistent aesthetic that build brand recognition over time, not one-off posts, and keep them evolving as trends, formats, and culture shift.
• Push the brand consistently on trend and cultural relevance, spotting content opportunities and white space before they peak, and coaching the team to move on them quickly and confidently.
• Build out and scale the brand’s YouTube and Pinterest strategies, and lead early strategic thinking on a future Reddit presence.
• Manage, coach, and develop a team of two direct reports, the Social Media Manager and Social Creative Manager, setting clear priorities, giving regular feedback, and building each of their growth paths.
• Own performance rigor: track TY/LY (this-year vs. last-year) KPIs across every channel, ensure the team consistently delivers against agreed metrics, and turn results into next actions and resourcing decisions.
• Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Influencer, Creative, and Retail teams to keep brand voice and campaign moments consistent across owned and earned channels.
• Own strategy recaps and performance reporting up to leadership, translating data into a clear narrative on what’s working and what’s next.
• Represent social strategy in cross-functional planning, ensuring social has a seat at the table for major launches, campaigns, and brand moments.
Key Working Relationships:
• Direct reports: Social Media Manager and Social Creative Manager.
• Cross-functional partners: Marketing, Influencer Marketing, Creative Services, Copy, and Retail/commercial teams.
• External: content creators, agency partners, and platform partners as needed.
Required Skills & Experience:
• 5+ years of social media marketing/strategy experience, including at least 1–2 years directly managing people. Beauty or CPG industry highly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience building ownable content series, franchises, or a distinct brand aesthetic that scaled over time.
• Experience across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube required; Pinterest experience strongly preferred; familiarity with Reddit’s community dynamics a plus.
• Proven track record owning TY/LY performance reporting and translating results into strategy.
• Experience managing and developing direct reports, with a track record of growing team members into more senior roles.
• Highly organized and data-driven, with strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; familiar with social publishing and analytics tools (e.g., Dash Hudson) and content tools (CapCut, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).
• Ability to work cross-functionally across marketing, creative, influencer, and retail teams.
Travel Requirements:
Travel for events (photoshoots, store openings, influencer activations) on a case-by-case basis.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to perform essential functions (with or without an accommodation) without posing a "direct threat" to the health and safety to self or others.
