We're looking for someone who understands both the art and science of social media, someone who can spot opportunities, turn insights into action and help evolve how we work. This includes embracing emerging technologies and AI-enabled tools that can improve efficiency and streamline workflows.

Is this role right for you? You will:

  • Lead the social media strategy, Creator and content roadmap for Scotiabank's Wealth portfolio, ensuring it aligns with broader brand and business priorities.
  • Manage and develop a team of three social media professionals, creating a collaborative, high-performing environment where people can do their best work.
  • Build strong relationships with marketing, communications, business, compliance and legal partners, helping teams navigate competing priorities and move initiatives forward.
  • Act as a trusted social media advisor, bringing forward recommendations, insights and opportunities that support business goals.
  • Work closely with creative, paid media and agency partners to develop engaging, audience-first content across multiple platforms and markets.
  • Lead editorial planning and ongoing video production, balancing strategic priorities with real-time opportunities and emerging trends.
  • Use audience insights, social listening and performance data to inform content decisions and optimize results.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve efficiency through AI-enabled tools, automation and evolving content production practices.
  • Stay on top of platform developments, cultural trends and emerging technologies to ensure our social media approach remains current and effective.
  • Partner with platform and technology partners, including LinkedIn, Google and Reddit to bring new opportunities and best practices to the team.
  • Support social media measurement and reporting, helping demonstrate the value and impact of social media activity on business and brand objectives.
  • Ensure all activities are delivered in accordance with Scotiabank's policies, risk frameworks and regulatory requirements.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed? We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • 7+ years of experience in social media, digital marketing or content strategy, either agency-side or in-house.
  • Experience leading team members in a complex environment, while championing inclusivity and contributing to a psychologically safe team culture
  • Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of partners, including executive management.
  • Deep understanding of social media platforms - especially LinkedIn and authentic participation across Reddit - audience behaviours, content strategy and community management best practices.
  • Ability to influence internal partners, pushing boundaries and ensuring the highest quality content is delivered, knowing when to follow direction and when to advise against.
  • Working knowledge, curiosity and ideally previous implementation of AI tools to improve efficiency, workflow management and content operations.
  • Strong writing, communication and confident presentation skills.
  • Experience in wealth management and or physician marketing considered an asset
  • Degree, diploma or relevant working experience in Marketing, Communications or Social Media

What's in it for you?

  • You'll help shape how one of Canada's largest brands shows up in culture, lead a talented team, work with senior partners across the organization and have the freedom to test new ideas, technologies and approaches in a function that's constantly evolving.
  • A competitive Total Rewards package designed to support your physical, mental and financial wellbeing, including comprehensive health and dental coverage, mental wellbeing services, pension benefits and wellbeing support programs.
  • The opportunity to participate in Scotiabank's Employee Share Ownership Program, helping you share in the success of the organization while building your long-term financial future.
  • Generous vacation time, flexible benefits and programs that support work-life balance.
  • A collaborative and inclusive culture where diverse perspectives are valued and employees are empowered to contribute ideas, challenge thinking and make an impact.
  • Opportunities to connect, learn and build relationships through Scotiabank's employee communities and Employee Resource Groups.
  • A hybrid work environment based in Toronto (with an expectation of at least three days per week in the office).
