Rise Academy is seeking a creative, organized, and mission-driven Marketing & Social Media Coordinator to help share the incredible stories happening within our school every day.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys photography, videography, graphic design, social media, and storytelling while making a meaningful impact on students and families. The Marketing & Social Media Coordinator will play a key role in strengthening Rise Academy's brand, increasing community engagement, supporting student recruitment, and highlighting the life-changing work happening throughout our school.
This position is approximately 20 hours per week and requires an in-person presence on campus to capture authentic student experiences, school events, and campus life.
Essential Functions
Social Media Management
- Plan, create, and publish engaging content across Rise Academy's social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and other emerging platforms).
- Maintain a consistent posting schedule that reflects the school's mission and culture.
- Monitor engagement, respond to comments and messages as appropriate, and grow online community interaction.
- Stay current on social media trends and recommend innovative ways to increase visibility and engagement.
Content Creation
- Capture high-quality photos and videos of students, faculty, events, athletics, chapel services, and school activities.
- Create short-form videos, reels, graphics, and promotional content.
- Write compelling captions, newsletters, blog posts, and website content.
- Develop storytelling campaigns highlighting student achievements, alumni success, donors, and community partnerships.
Website Management
- Maintain and update the Rise Academy website with current news, events, photos, and announcements.
- Ensure website information remains accurate and visually engaging.
- Collaborate with school leadership to keep admissions and donor information current.
Marketing & Communications
- Assist with marketing campaigns supporting student recruitment, enrollment, fundraising, and special events.
- Design digital and print promotional materials including flyers, brochures, invitations, and event graphics.
- Support branding initiatives that maintain consistency across all school communications.
Event Coverage
- Attend school events, athletic competitions, fundraising events, and community activities as needed to capture photos and videos.
- Create timely social media coverage and post-event recaps.
- Collaboration
- Work closely with the Head of School, Director of Development & Marketing, faculty, coaches, and staff to identify stories worth sharing.
- Help promote a positive school culture through creative communications.

Requirements
Qualifications
Required
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Graphic Design, Journalism, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Experience managing social media accounts for an organization or business.
- Strong writing and editing skills.
- Experience creating digital graphics using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar software.
- Experience with photography and videography.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
- Passion for education and serving students.
Preferred
- Experience maintaining websites (WordPress or similar platforms).
- Knowledge of Google Analytics and social media insights.
- Experience with email marketing platforms.
- Experience working in schools or nonprofit organizations.
- Basic video editing experience.
