Compensation: $17.50

FWS Micro Internships are short-term, project-based work assignment completed by a Federal Work Study student with defined deliverables and learning outcomes. These projects are 10 - 40 hours total and are not on-going, operational roles. Selected students will deliver specific outcomes, build professional skills, and support departmental needs in a short-term capacity.

The Career Services Office is looking for student support with social media and marketing projects for July - early August.

Complete a short-term campus summer project and earn $17.50 / hour!

Marketing & Social Media

Project Summary

Brainstorm, develop, or implement a targeted marketing or social media campaign to increase awareness, engagement, or participation in departmental initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Brainstorm ideas for relevant social media content
  • Create social media content (posts, graphics, captions)
  • Assist in campaign planning and scheduling
  • Analyze engagement metrics
  • Research best practices and trends
  • Draft marketing copy or email content

Deliverables

  • Content calendar
  • Social media posts or campaign assets
  • Engagement analytics summary
  • Campaign report with recommendations

Minimum/General Qualifications:

This position requires applicants to:

  • Have an Accepted Federal Work Study award as part of their 2025-26 Financial Aid award with Columbus State. View your Financial Aid in CougarWeb Self-Service.

  • Be enrolled in SIX or more credit hours in a degree or certificate program. 

  • Meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements.

  • Have a high school diploma or a certificate of attendance from an accredited secondary school or a certificate of high school equivalence and be exempt from Ohio Revised Code Chapter 4109.

  • Have reliable transportation or other means of getting to work regularly.

Schedule:

TBD by the needs of department and student schedule between office hours of Monday - Friday 8 am to 5 pm. Project timeframe is estimated 20 - 40 total hours.
