Freelance Social Media & Content Creator

Compensation: $1000–$1500 per month, based on agreed monthly deliverables and scope

Contract Type: Freelance / Independent Contractor

Location: Ottawa, ON – Hybrid, with periodic on-site content creation

We are looking for a creative and organized freelance Social Media & Content Creator to help create, coordinate and publish engaging content across our social media channels.

This is a deliverables-based contract rather than a set hourly position. The successful creator will work with our team to establish a monthly content package within a budget of approximately $1000–$1500 per month.

Responsibilities and monthly deliverables may include:

• Attending weekly on-site content sessions to capture photos and video

• Weekly meeting with marketing department (Rebecca & Tom – Remote meeting)

• Creating and editing graphics and short-form videos aligned with our brand

• Product, lifestyle, staff and behind-the-scenes photography

• Writing engaging social media captions

• Developing a monthly social media content calendar with marketing department

• Scheduling and publishing approved content

• Posting across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and TikTok

• Creating and scheduling Instagram/Facebook Stories

• Coordinating content around promotions, events, new products and seasonal priorities

• Ensuring content is submitted for internal approval prior to publishing

• Providing basic monthly reporting on content performance, where included in the agreed package

The exact number and type of monthly deliverables will be established with the selected contractor based on experience, proposed package and monthly priorities.

Applicants should submit a portfolio or examples of previous social media work and provide a brief proposal outlining what they could deliver within a monthly budget of $1000–$1500.
