DescriptionPOSITION OVERVIEW
Chicago Shakespeare Theater’s Digital Marketing Manager is responsible for driving revenue, awareness, and engagement across the Theater’s digital channels, primarily website and email. This vital member of our team is a results-oriented, data-minded strategic digital marketer that creates and executes a cohesive plan to engage a diverse audience through timely email communication, website updates and content generation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Spearhead and implement effective digital marketing strategies and tactics, focusing on email communications and website presence, that consistently supports the organization’s brand, revenue, conversion, participation, loyalty and channel usage goals
- Plan, manage, and execute CST’s email strategy and calendar, accounting for a wide range of audience segments and demographics
- Manage and update the key pages of CST’s website, chicagoshakes.com to improve audience experience
- Create a long-range roadmap for website improvements on chicagoshakes.com, with the goal of improving purchase flow, sales conversions, and overall audience engagement
- Manage a cross-departmental content calendar for website and emails.
- Efficiently collaborate with the teams involved (including Marketing/Communications, Box Office, Development, Education)
- Devise strategies to increase online traffic and email list sign-ups
- Keep up to date with industry benchmarks and innovations (with a focus on engagement, personalization, automation, A/B testing, and analysis). Develop plans to incorporate relevant activity into the Theater’s business practice
- Oversee data integrity of the Theater’s email lists in tandem with CST’s Tessitura Administrator.
- Track, measure, and report on regular digital KPIs and customer insights
- Capitalize on opportunities to deepen the Theater’s relationship with audience members through digital initiatives and effective integration with the Theater’s CRM system, Tessitura
- Participate in the life of the Theater providing support for related activities and events as needed
- Model effective communication and support a positive work environment through professional conduct and maintaining confidentiality
- Perform other duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Work hours are generally 9:00 am-5:00 pm, Monday through Friday
- Some evening and weekend hours when programs are scheduled
- Worksite is primarily at the CST facilities on Navy Pier in Chicago, IL
PHYSICAL DEMAND
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 20lbs
- Ability to stand, bend, and squat
- Ability to view computer screen and use computer keyboards regularly throughout each shift
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- 3–5 years professional experience in digital communication, website development/design, preferably with an admissions-based experiential
- Proficiency with a website content management system (WordPress a plus)
- Extensive work with an email campaign platform (Active Campaign/Prospect2 a plus), exhibiting a demonstrated impact on improving campaign performance.
- Strong analytical skills with a proven record of leading and managing SEO/SEM efforts, reporting on site metrics, and suggesting action steps—experience with Google tools such as Analytics (GA4 familiarity a plus), Search Console, and Tag Manager
- Familiarity working with a CRM system (Tessitura a plus), and project management tools (Asana and Active Collab a plus)
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop a plus)
