About the Role:
The Social Media & Community Engagement Coordinator plays a key role in bringing the excitement and experience of junior hockey to life through creative content, storytelling and meaningful fan engagement.
While an understanding of hockey is important, this role extends well beyond the game itself. The primary focus is on showcasing the entertainment, promotions, personalities and community connections that make attending a game a memorable experience.
Through compelling social media content and creative storytelling, the coordinator will help build excitement, create a sense of FOMO (fear of missing out) and give fans a reason to experience the action in person.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to create engaging social content while delivering “I Remember Moments” and memories to our fans both in the arena and in the community. This is a fast-paced role that is perfect for those with a creative spirit who thrive in both dreaming and doing!

- Audience Growth: Grow the team’s social media reach, attract new audiences and deepen engagement with existing fans through meaningful interactions.
- Promotional Marketing: Creatively communicate the team’s promotional calendar, theme nights and community initiatives to drive awareness, excitement and ticket sales.
- Community Connection: Highlight the team’s involvement in the community and tell stories that strengthen relationships beyond hockey.
- Working with the Director, Business Operations to research, identify and execute community events, causes and charities for the Edmonton Oil Kings to support throughout the calendar year.
