Vice President of eCommerce & Marketing
c76846a9-b41d-4222-b510-671936a2f88eSummary
The Vice President of eCommerce and Marketing owns the company’s online revenue and the marketing engine that feeds it. The role is accountable for monthly eCommerce revenue, conversion, contribution margin and return on ad spend across all B2B and B2C storefronts and marketplaces (15+ sites including tractorpartsasap.com, partsasap.com, unitedskidtracks.com, Amazon, eBay and Walmart), and for the brand, creative, trade show and demand programs that support the Agriculture, Construction and Material Handling business units.
This is an operating role in a PE-backed, acquisition-driven distributor. The leader diagnoses and fixes revenue shortfalls personally, sets a weekly operating cadence for the eCommerce and marketing teams, manages agencies to scope and results, upgrades talent when needed, and reports plainly to the CEO and the board. The largest site is currently behind budget and the board expects it fixed; the first task is a recovery, not a planning exercise.
First 12 Months: Expected Outcomes
- Restore tractorpartsasap.com to budget within two quarters. For any site or channel miss, deliver a root-cause finding and recovery plan within 30 days of the miss.
- Within 30 days, stand up a weekly scorecard for every storefront: orders and revenue against budget and prior year, conversion, ROAS, feed and catalog health (URLs changed, dead pages, disapprovals), failed checkouts and tracking status.
- Within 60 days, audit every agency and platform contract (development, paid media, email, search, commerce platform), reset scope and spend to measurable output, and put a single change log and one-change-at-a-time discipline in place.
- Within 90 days, assess every direct report and the eCommerce and marketing structure, and act on the findings.
- By the second board meeting after start, present a plan with financials, ownership and timing that states the size of any gap plainly.
- By the end of the first year, resolve brand architecture across the acquired brands with a decision and a timeline agreed with the EVPs.
