DescriptionThe Social Media Manager is responsible for creating and managing engaging digital content that promotes Student Center & Events (SCE) programs, services, and initiatives. This role focuses on developing visually compelling graphics and strategic messaging to enhance SCE’s presence across social media and digital platforms. Working collaboratively with the Graphic Designer, professional staff, and student team members, the Social Media Manager helps ensure all content is timely, creative, and aligned with university branding standards.
This position also supports the planning and execution of marketing campaigns, contributes to capturing and promoting campus events, and stays informed on current design and social media trends to keep content fresh and relevant. Through strong organization and creativity, the Social Media Manager plays a key role in increasing student engagement and fostering a vibrant campus community.
Responsibilities
- Design graphics, illustrations, logos, and layouts for SCE’s social media, Linked-In, website, events, and promotional materials using tools like Photoshop, Canva, and Illustrator.
- Help develop and implement marketing strategies for SCE programs, events, and initiatives, making sure the content is fresh, engaging, and on-brand.

Work closely with the Graphic Designer, Professional Staff, and other team members to brainstorm and execute creative ideas that resonate with the USF community.
- Ensure all creative materials align with the USF brand and guidelines, maintaining a cohesive look and message across platforms.
- Assist with the creation and organization of marketing projects, ensuring that tasks are completed on time and meet expectations.
- Keep up with current design trends and social media strategies to help bring new ideas and fresh approaches to our creative content.
- Help capture moments at on-campus events through photography and contribute to event promotion and engagement efforts.
Qualifications
- Strong interest in graphic design, marketing, and social media.
- Experience with design software like Photoshop, Canva, Illustrator, or other creative tools.
- A good eye for design, with attention to detail and an ability to create visually appealing content.
- Creative and enthusiastic about producing content that will engage students and the campus community.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Organized, able to manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to take constructive feedback and adapt your work accordingly.
- Flexible availability and the ability to attend most SCE events on campus.
- Enrollment in a related program (Design, Marketing, Communications, or similar) is preferred.
