Job Summary

Purple is rebuilding its paid social function around a simple idea: the best-performing ad is the one people remember. The Senior Manager, Paid Social won’t produce creative directly. They’ll partner closely with our video, UGC, and influencer/whitelisting talent to ideate, brief, test, and report back on what’s working, making sure the right creative reaches the right platform, audience, and moment across Meta, TikTok, Pinterest, and Reddit. This role also demands real technical command of each platform’s algorithm, targeting, and bidding systems, with the judgment to direct that system rather than defer to it.

Job Description

Responsibilites:

  • Own paid social strategy end to end across Meta, TikTok, Pinterest, and Reddit, from budget allocation and audience targeting to performance analysis and invoice reconciliation.
  • Partner with video, UGC, and influencer/whitelisting talent to ideate and test video-first, demonstration-led creative that sells the product’s core differentiation, not just feature callouts, then report back on what’s working and why.
  • Match creative to platform: know which asset, format, and message belongs on Meta versus TikTok versus Pinterest versus Reddit, and when it needs to run.
  • Balance always-on performance campaigns with brand-building investment, recognizing that only a small share of the audience is in-market at any given time and the rest is future pipeline.
  • Maintain deep technical fluency in each platform’s targeting, delivery, and bidding algorithms, and actively direct campaign structure and signals rather than defaulting to automation.
  • Write creative briefs, give feedback and inspiration to the creative team, and audit final ad design and copy before it ships.
  • Design and execute structured experiments (creative, audience, placement, bidding) and turn results into clear, data-driven recommendations.
  • Track performance beyond last-click and platform-reported ROAS, incorporating branded search lift and CVR trends as signals that creative is working.
  • Report on strategy and outcomes weekly and monthly to marketing leadership.
  • Stay ahead of platform updates, format changes, and emerging opportunities across all supported channels.
  • Flag and reallocate spend away from underperforming placements, audiences, or partners quickly rather than waiting on a quarterly review.
  • Contribute to broader marketing team projects and initiatives as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years managing paid social with a focus on e-commerce and consumer products; DTC experience strongly preferred.
  • A track record of building and scaling paid social campaigns with measurable results, ideally including video-led or brand-building creative that also performed.
  • Deep, hands-on technical expertise across Meta Ads Manager, TikTok Ads Manager, Pinterest Ads, and Reddit Ads, including how each platform’s delivery and bidding algorithm actually works, not just how to launch a campaign.
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort in data analysis and reporting tools; you can diagnose why a campaign is underperforming, not just that it is.
  • Experience writing creative briefs and giving direct, specific creative feedback that improves what ships.
  • A self-starter who takes ownership, communicates clearly with leadership, and is comfortable taking on more scope as the team grows.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, or a related field.
