Social Media Specialist (Evergreen – Fulltime)

Potential roles will have a need for a specialist skilled in platform-native tools, content calendars and creative briefing, social listening tools, paid social optimization, and influencer and community management.
What You'll Do
- Develop social media content for clients across various platforms.
- Schedules posts through social media software.
- Develop internal social media toolkits. Analyzes and reports on social media metrics.
- Develop and implement social media strategy across client platforms.
- Engage with client social media leads to pitch content ideas.
- Maintain a working knowledge of social media best practices and trends.
- Follow government accounts to understand impactful campaigns.
- Coordinate with client stakeholders on strategy.
- Own and direct social media content across all platforms (e.g., X, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and emerging platforms).
- Serve as a senior authority on platform algorithms, optimization, and evolving trends, ensuring strategy stays ahead of the digital curve.
- Set the comprehensive, strategic framework for social and integrated digital storytelling that aligns with agency missions and departmental messaging priorities.
- Work with designers, videographers, animators, and writers on creative approach, pacing, tone, format, and platform-specific storytelling.
- Capture and edit high-quality content for social media, including video and photos.
- Lead, develop, and implement real-time and rapid-response digital content for major announcements, events, and high-attention moments.
- Present digital strategies confidently to senior federal leadership and political appointees, translating technical metrics into actionable insights.
- Ensuring compliance with accessibility (Section 508), records management, security, and platform policies.
Duties may vary based on required education and experience level required for the role.
Requirements
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and at least 5 years of experience. Alternatively, must have a Master’s degree in a relevant field and 3 years of experience.
- U.S. citizenship is required with verbal and written fluency in English
- Must be able to receive and maintain a federal security clearance (public trust level)
- Must be based in Washington, D.C. This onsite role will report to the federal client location daily.
- Familiarity with responsible AI principles and practices.
Desired Qualifications
- Prior federal contracting experience is preferred.
- Experience in the energy sector preferred.
