Social Media Specialist

Position Summary:

The Social Media Specialist is responsible for creating social media campaigns and managing the company’s social media platforms, as well as implementing social media best practices across all social media channels. The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, a versatile creative writer, an out-of-the-box thinker, and a team player. They will actively collect and analyze data to consistently improve the company’s social media practices, performances, and growth.

In this Role:

• Assists with various advertising duties, focusing on social media marketing, content creation, social care, and engagement to grow audiences, awareness, and engagement.
• Conducts social media audits for enterprise campaigns and initiatives.
• Manage the social media presence for Property channels.
• Assists in establishing and maintaining positive relationships with departments.
• Create and execute social media strategy through competitive research, messaging, and audience identification.
• Stay current with the competitive landscape and social/cultural trends on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, and other emerging technologies.
• In-depth knowledge of using popular platforms including but not limited to Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok. Generate, edit, and publish daily/weekly content within each platform to build brand and increase visibility.
• Maintains consistency of the online community by moderating content, providing initial responses to inquiries, engaging in dialogues, and answering questions.
• Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of paid social marketing campaigns by tracking campaign response and providing feedback on findings with actionable recommendations for performance improvements across all social platforms.
• Monitor community feedback in real-time and respond to/engage with the brand’s audience seven days a week across multiple platforms.
• Coordinate with all stakeholders to photograph property amenity areas, venues, Team Members, promotions, events, and nightlife for posting to social pages.
• Publish event photo albums promptly and maintain a collection of promotional / lifestyle images.
• Assist in creating and presenting social media progress reports and competitive analysis reports monthly to Marketing and Executive management.
• Assist with social media marketing strategy.
• Well-developed interpersonal skills.
• Candidate should be self-motivated, detail-orientated, and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Time management skills, critical thinking, problem-solving, and presentation skills preferred.
• Must be available to capture social content during high-traffic times (evenings and weekends).
• Responsible for always practicing, supporting, and promoting Gun Lake Casino Resort’s “Unsurpassed Service Standards.”
• Practice teamwork, support fellow Team Members, and create an energized, positive, team-oriented work environment.
• Interact with Guests in a friendly and courteous manner and handle all Guest opportunities promptly.
• Must be able to effectively communicate both written and verbally with Guests, Team Members, and Management.
• Maintain excellent grooming and uniform standards.
• All other duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications:

• Must be 21+ years of age.
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university with a concentration in Marketing, Advertising, Communication, Business, or a related field required. Experience in lieu of education will be considered.
• Minimum two (2) years of project management and digital marketing experience required.
• Work experience in the gaming or hospitality industry is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Requires normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color, and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols.
• Must have the manual dexterity to operate job-related equipment.
• Ability to sit, walk, stand, run, and climb stairs for the duration of shift.
• Must have the ability to access all properties and areas.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance.
• Ability to read, write, and input data into the computer.
• Ability to stoop, crouch and kneel.

Work Conditions:

Work is typically in an office environment; however, additional work areas may be unusually hot, cold, and/or noisy and may contain second-hand smoke. Tasks may be required to be performed from a sitting or non-sitting position in a confined area. Team Members may be required to stand, walk, lift, reach, push, pull, and grasp.
