Social Media Marketing Associate, Scribner

Scribner is seeking a creative, digitally savvy, and highly collaborative Social Media Marketing Associate to manage and grow the imprint’s social media presence. This role will lead day-to-day content creation, scheduling, community engagement, and influencer outreach across Scribner’s social platforms.

The ideal candidate is a content creator who understands how to translate books, authors, and cultural moments into engaging, platform-specific content. This individual will collaborate closely with title marketers, authors, and other internal partners to develop creative social campaigns supporting both frontlist and backlist titles.

Primary Responsibilities:

· Plan, create, schedule, and monitor content across Scribner’s social media platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, and emerging channels.

· Manage Scribner’s social media content calendar, balancing priority title campaigns, imprint-wide initiatives, cultural moments, and backlist opportunities.

· Develop and manage Scribner’s influencer outreach efforts, including identifying creators, maintaining relationships, coordinating mailings, and tracking campaign results.

· Collaborate with title marketers to develop creative social media strategies and content for individual book campaigns.

· Track social media performance, analyze engagement data, and share actionable insights to improve content and campaign strategies.

· Establish and monitor key performance indicators for social campaigns.

· Stay current on social media trends, platform updates, emerging technologies, and conversations relevant to books and publishing.

· Attend select in-person and virtual events to capture content for Scribner’s social channels.

· Contribute ideas for growing Scribner’s presence across established platforms and thoughtfully expanding onto new channels.

Qualifications:

· 2–4 years of relevant experience in social media marketing, digital marketing, content creation, or a related field.

· Demonstrated experience managing branded social media accounts and developing platform-specific content.

· Strong photography, videography, video-editing, and social-first copywriting skills.

· Highly creative, with the ability to identify trends and translate them into thoughtful, brand-appropriate content.

· Experience with organic and paid influencer outreach and an interest in building long-term creator relationships.

· Familiarity with social media analytics, reporting, and performance measurement.

· Experience with tools such as Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Sprinklr, Canva, or comparable platforms is preferred.

· Excellent organizational and project-management skills, with the ability to balance multiple campaigns and deadlines.

· Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

· Comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with authors and colleagues across marketing, publicity, editorial, and design.

· Passion for books, authors, and engaging with the online reading community.
