Overview

At STN Digital, we help the biggest brands in sports and entertainment win on social media. Our work powers global tentpole events, builds fanbases, launches shows, sells products, and shapes culture for partners like Netflix, NFL, Hulu, Nike, NBA teams, and more.

For over a decade, we've been the industry's trusted social-first agency. As we continue to grow, we're investing in our own brand and executive presence to strengthen awareness, build relationships, and connect with the leaders shaping sports and entertainment.

We're looking for a Social Media Manager, Executive Brand to grow the social presence of STN Digital and our CEO, David Brickley. This is an in-house marketing role, focused on building our own brand rather than managing external client accounts.

Approximately 60% of the role will focus on our CEO's social presence and 40% on STN's owned channels, with both working together to strengthen STN's visibility and reputation.

We're looking for someone who lives and breathes social content, sports, entertainment, business, and internet culture. Someone who hears an interesting conversation, spots an emerging trend, or experiences a moment and immediately recognizes the opportunity to turn it into compelling content.

You'll develop ideas, capture content, edit video, write copy, publish, and analyze performance. You'll work closely with leadership, have opportunities to travel, and bring your own creative perspective to the work.

This role requires someone who can think strategically while remaining deeply hands-on. Someone with strong creative instincts, excellent judgment, and the ability to move quickly from idea to execution.

The Role

The Social Media Manager will serve as a trusted executive content partner while owning STN Digital's day-to-day social content execution.

You'll work closely with our CEO to understand his voice, interests, expertise, and perspective, turning conversations, industry insights, travel, and everyday moments into authentic, platform-native content.

For STN, you'll translate Marketing priorities into social-first storytelling that reaches the sports and entertainment leaders we want to connect with. You'll own the content calendar and day-to-day execution, partnering with Creative when concepts call for more elevated production.

Success requires someone who anticipates opportunities, moves independently, and continuously improves the work based on audience behavior and performance.

What You’ll Do

Serve as a Trusted Executive Content Partner

  • Build a close working relationship with STN's CEO, developing a deep understanding of his voice, interests, expertise, and audience.
  • Proactively identify content opportunities from conversations, meetings, travel, speaking engagements, industry developments, and everyday moments.
  • Develop and pitch compelling social-first concepts that authentically reflect the CEO's personality and point of view.
  • Capture, edit, write, and publish content across priority executive social channels.
  • Establish a consistent content cadence and manage calendars, assets, approvals, and publishing workflows.
  • Transform podcasts, interviews, speaking engagements, and business insights into engaging social content.
  • Travel as needed to support executive content capture, conferences, and industry events.
  • Analyze performance and recommend new formats, topics, and creative approaches to strengthen executive thought leadership.

Own STN’s Social Engine

  • Translate STN's Marketing strategy into compelling social content that builds awareness and engagement with our ideal customer profile.
  • Own STN's social calendars, ideation, copywriting, publishing, community management, and day-to-day execution.
  • Create content tailored to each platform, with an initial focus on LinkedIn, Instagram & TikTok.
  • Develop creative concepts that showcase STN's work, people, expertise, culture, and perspective on the industry.
  • Capture and produce social-first content using mobile devices, CapCut, Photoshop, and other creative tools.
  • Partner with Marketing, Social, and Creative teams to bring larger content opportunities to life.
  • Maintain a consistent publishing cadence while ensuring content reflects STN's brand voice and creative standards.
  • Monitor content performance and audience engagement to continuously improve strategy and execution.

Turn Moments into Content

  • Stay immersed in sports, entertainment, marketing, entrepreneurship, business, and internet culture to identify relevant conversations and opportunities.
  • Recognize compelling content opportunities without waiting for a formal brief.
  • Move quickly to capture and publish timely, culturally relevant content.
  • Lead content capture sessions, confidently directing executives, employees, and other on-camera talent.
  • Identify authentic, unscripted moments that can become compelling social storytelling.
  • Understand when content should be captured and produced quickly versus when an idea warrants more elevated creative execution.
  • Bring proactive recommendations to Leadership and Marketing based on emerging trends, cultural conversations, and content performance.
  • Continuously test new formats, storytelling approaches, and platform-native creative techniques.

Who You Are

  • Deeply Curious: You're genuinely interested in sports, entertainment, social media, entrepreneurship, leadership, business, and internet culture. You're constantly learning and connecting ideas.
  • A Natural Content Creator: You instinctively recognize what could become great content. You don't need someone to hand you a brief to get started.
  • Scrappy and Resourceful: You're comfortable grabbing an iPhone, directing a quick shoot, editing in CapCut, writing copy, and getting content published.
  • Social-First: You understand the difference between content designed for social and traditional marketing content simply posted to a social platform.
  • A Strong Writer With Great Taste: You can adapt your writing to different voices and audiences while keeping content authentic, engaging, and free of corporate jargon.
  • Confident Around Leadership: You're comfortable working directly with executives, asking questions, offering ideas, and directing content capture.

  • Performance-Minded: You understand what makes content resonate and use audience insights to make the next piece better.
  • Proactive: You anticipate opportunities, bring solutions, and move ideas forward without requiring constant direction.

What Success Looks Like

  • STN's social presence builds awareness and earns engagement from relevant sports and entertainment industry leaders.
  • Content opportunities from travel, events, conversations, and everyday moments are consistently identified and executed.
  • Social performance improves through ongoing testing, audience insights, and creative optimization.
  • STN employees feel proud of the content representing the agency and are excited to participate in it.
  • Marketing and Leadership trust you to independently own day-to-day social execution while contributing fresh ideas and strategic recommendations.
