We're looking for a hands-on Social Media Manager - a creator and strategist who makes things, not a calendar manager. Your job is to produce short-form content basically every day and turn everything happening around The Realest into content people can't scroll past.
We have an incredible amount of natural content already. Between our founder, the merchandise, the auctions, the athletes and artists, our partners, our customers, and everything happening around the business, you won't have to manufacture much. The job is to recognize the story fast, frame it the right way, shoot and edit it, and get it out. You'll spot it, capture it, package it, and publish it - quickly.
This is a role built on speed, autonomy, and experimentation. We'd much rather you test ten smart ideas than overthink one for a week. Individual posts that don't land are completely fine, that's the cost of moving fast and learning what works.
This starts as a contract role with the potential to convert to full-time down the line.
Create great content, every day
- Produce short-form video daily - recognize the story quickly, frame it, shoot it, edit it, and ship it
- Turn the natural content around us into gold: merchandise, auctions, athletes and artists, partners, customers, and live moments
- Concept, capture, and edit from start to finish — Reels, TikToks, Shorts, Stories, graphics, and real-time content that feels native to each platform
- Keep the voice unmistakably The Realest — real, in-the-know, and made for collectors
Partner on founder-led content
- Work closely with our founder, who's naturally one of the faces of the business
- Spot opportunities for founder-led content that feels authentic - never forced, never generic "CEO content"
Tell customer and collector stories
- Fluent in collectible culture, with a home base on X. Comfortable across all platforms, but especially dialed into X, where the collectors are and the conversation happens - engaging and jumping into the discussions daily, not just posting.
- Catch the reactions when collectors receive their items, and the moments with athletes and partners
Build formats, not just posts
- When something works, turn it into a repeatable format, template, or franchise rather than treating every post as a one-off
- Develop recurring series that give The Realest a recognizable rhythm and identity
Experiment, measure, and lean in
- Try a lot, watch what performs, understand why, and double down on what's working
- Stay extremely aware of internet culture, formats, and what's landing — but translate it through an elevated The Realest lens. We should feel current and fast without chasing every meme or trend
- Track views, saves, shares, and follower growth, and turn the numbers into your next move
Run creator and influencer engagement (secondary)
- Identify and work with creators, influencers, and brand ambassadors who fit our mission - a meaningful part of the role, but always secondary to creating great content ourselves
Who You Are
- A maker first — you see the post before you pick up the phone, and you'd rather ship than sit on an idea
- Fast and autonomous: you spot the story and run with it without waiting for a brief
- Fluent in internet culture and where attention is going, with the taste to filter it through an elevated brand lens
- Equal parts creative and analytical — you love a good hook and a good data point
- Someone who genuinely gets why memorabilia matters to the people who collect it
What We're Looking For
Honestly, we care much more about taste, instincts, and great work than about checking traditional experience boxes. We're not counting years.
- A strong portfolio of short-form content you've personally shot and edited — this is what matters most
- Hands-on craft across filming and editing, with tools like Adobe Premiere, CapCut, or whatever gets you there (phone-first is fine — we care about the eye, not the gear)
- Fluency across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, and Facebook - the tools, the culture, and how each platform's algorithm actually works
- An instinct for formats and franchises - you recognize a repeatable idea when you see one
- Comfort with analytics (native platform insights, Google Analytics, and similar) and the instinct to act on what they tell you
- Based in or around Los Angeles and able to be on-site, with flexibility to travel for key events
- A genuine interest in sports, music, or movie memorabilia - you should get why this stuff matters
