What you’ll be doing
As the Social Media Coordinator, you will be responsible for supporting OFA’s social media presence through content creation, posting, community engagement, and basic performance tracking. This position works across the organization to capture and share stories that highlight OFA’s programs, employees, clients, culture, and community impact while also supporting the online presence of OFA’s Executive Leadership Team.
In this role, you will:
Social Media Content & Execution
Support the day-to-day management of OFA’s social media channels, including scheduling, publishing, monitoring, and maintaining a consistent presence across platforms.
Maintain a social media content calendar aligned with organizational priorities, programs, events, campaigns, and key initiatives.
Create engaging written, photo, and short-form video content appropriate for each social media platform.
Capture photos, videos, interviews, and other content at OFA programs, offices, events, and community activities.
Identify opportunities to highlight client successes, employee accomplishments, program activities, community partnerships, organizational milestones, and OFA culture.
Write clear, engaging, and brand-appropriate captions and social media copy.
Adapt content for different platforms while maintaining consistent organizational messaging and brand voice.
Executive Online Presence
Support and manage the professional online presence of OFA’s Executive Leadership Team, with a particular focus on LinkedIn.
Draft and create LinkedIn content that highlights executive leadership, organizational priorities, industry insights, advocacy, community engagement, thought leadership, and OFA accomplishments.
Work directly with executive leaders to identify appropriate content opportunities, gather input, and maintain an authentic and professional voice.
Assist with scheduling and publishing executive LinkedIn posts and maintaining a consistent cadence of content.
Repurpose appropriate organizational content, events, milestones, and achievements for executive LinkedIn channels.
Monitor engagement on executive posts and identify opportunities for appropriate interaction and increased visibility.
Ensure executive content aligns with OFA’s brand, messaging, values, and organizational priorities.
Community Engagement
Monitor OFA social media channels and respond to comments, messages, mentions, and interactions in a timely and professional manner.
Engage appropriately with community partners, referral organizations, employees, supporters, and other relevant audiences.
Escalate questions, complaints, sensitive comments, or other issues to the Director of Operations when necessary.
Support efforts to grow OFA’s social media audience and increase meaningful engagement.
Content Coordination & Storytelling
Work with program and department teams to identify stories, events, accomplishments, and other content opportunities throughout the organization.
Maintain a pipeline of content that represents OFA’s different programs, geographic regions, employees, and organizational initiatives.
Coordinate with employees and program teams to gather information, photos, videos, and approvals prior to publication.
Follow established requirements for permissions, releases, privacy, and confidentiality when publishing content involving clients, employees, or other individuals.
Support social media coverage of organizational events, employee activities, advocacy efforts, community partnerships, recruiting events, and other OFA initiatives.
Analytics & Performance
Track basic social media metrics, including reach, engagement, audience growth, and content performance.
Assist with preparing regular social media performance reports.
Identify high-performing content and emerging trends to help inform future content.
Stay current on social media trends, platform updates, and new content formats relevant to OFA’s audiences.
Marketing Collaboration & Support
Collaborate with the Director of Operations, Marketing Design Specialist, third-party marketing vendor, and internal departments to support coordinated marketing activities.
Assist the Marketing Design Specialist with marketing collateral, website and intranet updates, print materials, events, presentations, and other creative projects as needed.
Coordinate with the Marketing Design Specialist to obtain graphics, templates, photography, and other branded assets for social media use.
Provide general marketing support for organizational events, campaigns, outreach efforts, and special projects.
Maintain organized libraries of social media photos, videos, approved content, and other digital assets.

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Digital Media, Journalism, or a related field preferred.
Experience
Internship, volunteer, academic, campus organization, or personal experience managing social media or creating digital content is preferred.
A portfolio or examples of social media, photography, video, writing, or other digital content is preferred.
Familiarity with major social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and emerging platforms.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to create engaging photo and short-form video content using a smartphone and basic content creation tools.
Familiarity with Canva or similar creative platforms.
Basic understanding of social media analytics or willingness to learn.
Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain a content calendar and meet deadlines.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Ability to write in different voices and adapt content appropriately for organizational and executive audiences.
Ability to work collaboratively with employees across different departments, programs, and locations, including members of the Executive Leadership Team.
Good judgment when handling sensitive information, client stories, executive communications, and online interactions.
Willingness to learn, accept feedback, and develop professionally.
Ability to independently identify potential content and storytelling opportunities.
Ability to occasionally travel to OFA locations, programs, community events, and organizational activities to capture content.
Other Requirements
21 years of age or older
A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and an acceptable driving record are required for this role.
This role requires travel within the region where services are provided.
Final candidates must successfully complete a background check.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
This position requires the employee to regularly stand, walk, sit, talk and hear. The employee must be capable of writing, using a computer keyboard, telephone and related office equipment. Ability to lift 10lbs. required.
