Social Media Coordinator

About the role

As Social Media Coordinator, you will help bring the Sydney and Visit NSW brands to life by creating and delivering engaging content across Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and TikTok. You'll coordinate the day-to-day management of social media channels, from planning and producing content through to publishing, community management and reporting. Working with a variety of teams, you'll ensure content is accurate, on brand and tailored to each platform, while keeping content calendars organised and up to date.

You'll also work closely with internal teams, content creators, photographers, videographers and external agencies to deliver high-quality social media campaigns and projects. From briefing and coordinating photo and video shoots to monitoring performance and identifying new opportunities, you'll play an important role in growing audience engagement. You'll stay across the latest social media trends, platforms and tools, while providing practical advice and support to colleagues and stakeholders on best-practice social media marketing.

About You

You have experience managing social media channels and creating content that captures attention and encourages engagement. You have experience creating social media content for government, tourism, events or a similar industry, and know how to tailor content for different platforms and audiences. You're a confident writer with a strong eye for detail, able to craft compelling captions and ensure content is accurate, on brand and fit for purpose. You also have a good understanding of marketing principles and how social media supports broader campaigns and communications.

You are comfortable managing competing priorities, staying organised and delivering high-quality work to tight deadlines. You're familiar with social media management and scheduling platforms such as Sprinklr or similar tools, and can use insights and performance data to help improve future content. You'll also bring practical content creation skills, including basic photography, video editing using tools such as CapCut. Experience with Canva to produce simple, engaging visual content would be advantageous.
