What you'll do:
- Lead the strategy, planning and day-to-day management of assigned institutional social media channels.
- Create compelling photo, video and written content that highlights patient care, medical education, research and community impact.
- Build relationships with physicians, researchers, faculty, staff and communicators to identify and develop impactful stories.
- Develop and execute organic and paid social media campaigns that strengthen engagement and advance institutional priorities.
- Monitor social conversations, manage online communities and provide guidance during time-sensitive communications.
- Analyze platform performance and audience insights to continually refine strategy and maximize results.

Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in a social media management

Additional Department Duties:
Responsible for developing strategic social media content that engages audiences across the University of Oklahoma, including the OU Health Campus, supporting institutional priorities through digital storytelling.
- Manage the daily operations of assigned institutional social media channels, including Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, and emerging platforms.
- Create content that highlights education, research, patient care, community impact and other institutional priorities while supporting a broad range of university initiatives.
- Monitor trends, tools and emerging platforms to keep the university's digital presence current and competitive.
- Collaborate with communicators, marketers and content creators across the University of Oklahoma and OU Health Campus to ensure brand consistency and effective execution across social media channels.
- Plan and execute paid and organic social media campaigns in collaboration with the strategic marketing team to drive engagement, reach and conversions.
- Create, curate and manage original, high-quality content, including photography, video, written and audio content, tailored to each social media platform.
- Develop and maintain editorial calendars to ensure consistent and timely posting across all managed accounts.
- Partner with faculty, staff, students, clinicians, researchers and institutional leaders to identify and develop compelling social media content across multiple campuses and units.
- Cover university events, research activities, healthcare initiatives and other institutional priorities across University of Oklahoma campuses as assigned.
- Ensure all content aligns with University of Oklahoma and OU Health Campus brand standards, accessibility guidelines and institutional communications best practices.
- Initiate and participate in online conversations to build and maintain a strong community presence by responding to comments, questions and messages in a timely and professional manner.
- Monitor social media conversations and emerging issues, escalating time-sensitive communications and reputational concerns as appropriate.
- Resolve issues or inquiries raised through social media channels in collaboration with appropriate departments when necessary.
- Analyze and report on performance metrics across all social media platforms to evaluate engagement, reach and overall campaign effectiveness.
- Use data insights to inform content optimization and strategic adjustments aimed at improving outcomes.
