The Social Media and Public Relations Specialist advances the College of Veterinary Medicine’s strategic priorities through high-quality, user-centered digital communications, including website management and primary responsibility for planning, executing and optimizing external email communications. As a member of the Strategic Communications and Marketing team and the college’s Advancement team, this position plays a key role in supporting alumni relations, fundraising initiatives and stakeholder engagement through performance-driven digital communication strategies.
This position is responsible for managing the college’s primary external websites, including vet.osu.edu and vmc.vet.osu.edu, leading the strategy, execution and analysis of external email communications, and overseeing content for digital display screens across college facilities. The role focuses on content development, user experience optimization, analytics, digital accessibility and brand consistency to enhance visibility and engagement across audiences.
This role leads the development, design and deployment of responsive email communications using university-approved tools and templates in alignment with brand and accessibility guidelines, ensuring timely, compelling and audience-focused messaging. The specialist also tracks, analyzes and reports on email performance metrics and provides data-informed recommendations for continuous improvement to increase engagement, effectiveness and impact across campaigns.
Working collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, vendors and university partners, the specialist ensures all digital content is accurate, accessible, timely and aligned with college and university standards. The successful candidate is a proactive problem-solver and eager learner who takes initiative in strengthening the college’s reputation as a model comprehensive college of veterinary medicine.

Target Salary Range: $51,500.00 - $67,250.00 per year; commensurate with experience, internal equity, the unit’s available budget, and the candidate’s qualifications.
