Job Summary

The Senior Paid Media Manager is a senior individual contributor responsible for leading full-funnel paid media strategies that drive measurable business results across the enterprise. This role serves as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, oversees agency partnerships, and provides expertise across paid search, social, display, video, metasearch, audio, and digital out-of-home channels. The position partners closely with Brand, Analytics, Creative, Finance, and external partners to optimize media investments and improve business performance. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, the Senior Paid Media Manager influences strategic decisions through deep subject matter expertise, data-driven insights, and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a strategic business partner to key stakeholders by providing recommendations on media investment strategy, channel mix, optimization approaches, and performance opportunities.
  • Lead the development and execution of full-funnel paid media strategies across Search, Metasearch, Social, Display, Video, Connected TV (CTV), Online Video (OLV), Programmatic, Audio, and Digital Out-of-Home (DOOH) channels.
  • Develop integrated media plans and investment recommendations based on business objectives, market opportunities, and performance insights.
  • Partner with internal teams and external agencies to ensure media strategies align with business goals, audience targets, and creative execution.
  • Monitor campaign performance, analyze results, and translate findings into actionable recommendations that improve return on investment and business outcomes.
  • Drive continuous improvement through structured testing, experimentation, measurement frameworks, attribution strategies, and optimization initiatives.
  • Provide thought leadership on media trends, emerging technologies, and innovative opportunities that enhance enterprise marketing effectiveness.
  • Lead relationships with media agencies, publishers, and technology partners to ensure execution quality, accountability, and performance excellence.
  • Manage media budgets, forecasts, spend pacing, and allocation strategies to ensure financial accuracy and efficient use of resources.

Qualifications

Employment Experience

  • 8+ years of experience in paid media, performance marketing, or related digital marketing disciplines.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience across Paid Search, Paid Social, Programmatic Display & Video, Metasearch, Audio, and DOOH media channels.
  • Experience working in agency and/or in-house marketing environments preferred.
  • Proven experience leading complex programs, influencing stakeholders, and driving business outcomes without direct authority.
  • Experience operating as a senior individual contributor with accountability for strategic initiatives and measurable business results.

Technical Skills

  • Hands-on experience with major digital media platforms, including Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, DV360, and The Trade Desk.
  • Working knowledge of ad technology platforms, analytics tools, and media measurement solutions, including Google Marketing Platform and Adobe Analytics.
  • Experience with attribution modeling, media measurement frameworks, and incrementality testing methodologies.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and presentation software for campaign analysis, forecasting, reporting, and executive communications.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • Advanced degree preferred.
  • Relevant digital marketing certifications are a plus.(Not required)

Travel Requirements

  • Occasional travel to Choice Hotels headquarters, approximately 4-6 times per year.

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $99,919 - $135,000. In addition to the annual salary, this role is eligible for an annual bonus based on the terms of Choice's Management Incentive Plan (MIP).
