Description
The Senior Marketing Automation Specialist is responsible for the execution, optimization, and administration of the firm's email marketing and marketing automation programs and marketing technology. This role serves as the primary owner of HubSpot, managing email campaign deployment, audience segmentation, workflows, forms, automation, reporting, and platform governance.
Working closely with the VP of Marketing, Strategic Marketing Managers, SDR teams, and some Sales Teams, the Senior Marketing Automation Specialist supports the execution layer of the marketing strategies tactical plans as laid out by the VP of Marketing and the Strategic Marketing Managers. This position combines technical expertise, campaign execution, data analysis, and process optimization to ensure the firm's marketing technology ecosystem supports growth, engagement, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Email Marketing Management
- Own the end-to-end execution of firmwide email marketing campaigns.
- Build and deploy marketing emails using approved templates and finalized content.
- Manage email scheduling, deployment, testing, quality assurance, and delivery.
- Develop and maintain audience segmentation strategies to improve targeting and constituent engagement.
- Design and maintain scalable list structures that support ongoing segmentation and personalization efforts.
- Manage the firm's marketing email calendar and coordinate deployment schedules across campaigns.
- Monitor email volume and audience exposure to minimize constituent fatigue and optimize engagement.
- Recommend campaign send dates, send times, audience segments, and deployment strategies based on performance data and industry best practices.
- Analyze campaign results and provide performance insights, recommendations, and optimization opportunities to Strategic Marketing Managers.
- Develop recurring executive-level reporting and recommendations for the Vice President of Marketing regarding overall email performance and trends.
Marketing Automation & Campaign Enablement
- Design, build, and optimize automated marketing workflows and nurture programs within HubSpot.
- Support campaign execution through email automation, workflow development, audience segmentation, and lead routing.
- Build and maintain landing pages, forms, automated follow-up sequences, and campaign assets within HubSpot.
- Collaborate with web, sales, and marketing teams to ensure seamless lead capture and engagement experiences.
- Continuously identify automation opportunities that improve efficiency, scalability, and campaign effectiveness.
HubSpot Administration
- Serve as the primary HubSpot administrator and internal platform expert.
- Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and user assistance across the firm.
- Manage user permissions, access requests, and system governance in partnership with Information Technology.
- Administer HubSpot forms, workflows, automation rules, notifications, and data processes.
- Manage and troubleshoot HubSpot-Salesforce integrations and support future platform enhancements.
- Evaluate and recommend new HubSpot capabilities, tools, and process improvements that increase platform utilization and business value.
- Ensure platform health, reliability, security, and operational effectiveness.
CRM & Database Management
- Manage audience lists, imports, exports, segmentation, and database organization.
- Support sales and SDR teams through list creation, campaign support, and CRM process improvements.
- Support lead routing, lead handoff processes, and sales enablement workflows.
- Monitor and improve CRM data cleanliness and consistency.
Reporting & Analytics
- Create and maintain dashboards and reports for Strategic Marketing Managers, Sales Directors, and Marketing Leadership.
- Track and report on marketing-sourced opportunities and marketing-influenced opportunities.
- Deliver campaign-level reporting and performance analysis across email, automation, and lead generation programs.
- Serve as the primary HubSpot data expert supporting executive reporting initiatives.
- Provide ad hoc analyses and reporting to support business and marketing decisions.
- Partner with leadership to evolve attribution and campaign measurement frameworks.
Process Improvement & Operations
- Develop and maintain operational documentation, process guides, knowledge articles, and training materials.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that increase operational efficiency and marketing effectiveness.

- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field.
- 4–7 years of experience in email marketing, marketing automation, CRM administration, or marketing operations.
- Hands-on HubSpot administration experience.
- Experience building, deploying, and optimizing email marketing campaigns.
- Experience developing automation workflows and nurture programs.
- Experience creating dashboards and performance reports.
- Strong understanding of email marketing best practices, deliverability, and audience segmentation.
Preferred
- HubSpot certifications.
- Experience with sales sequencing and automation tools like Hubspot sequencing or Outreach.io
- Salesforce integration experience.
- Experience supporting business development, SDR, or sales organizations.
- Experience within a professional services or B2B environment.
Compensation & Benefits
This role offers a competitive base salary along with a comprehensive benefits package. Salary ranges for U.S.-based positions are determined by geographic location and fall into one of three pay zones, which reflect the cost of labor in that area. The anticipated salary ranges for this position are outlined below and are subject to change:
- US Zone 1: $88,000 - $110,000
- US Zone 2: $80,000 - $100,000
- US Zone 3: $72,000 - $90,000
