One-liner

Own paid growth for a book of Single Grain clients as their performance strategist, and build the AI workflows that take build-outs, reporting, and QA off your plate.

About the role

Single Grain combines marketing services, software, and AI. This seat runs paid search, paid social, and programmatic for an assigned set of client accounts. You still get your hands in the accounts; your agents do most of the production. Clients treat you as their growth strategist: you tell them what to test next, and you tie spend to pipeline and revenue, not ROAS screenshots.

You should be an advanced AI user. The platforms already run on automation (Performance Max, Meta Advantage+, smart bidding); you know when to trust it and when to override it. On top of that you build your own agents for build-outs, pacing, reporting, creative iteration, and QA, and you check their output before it touches client spend.

What you will own

  • Diagnose each client's paid program; set baselines and targets (CAC, ROAS, CPL, qualified pipeline, revenue) and own the plan.
  • Run and optimize accounts across Google, Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok, and programmatic within approved budgets.
  • Ship test cycles fast: from idea to first readout in under five working days.
  • Run an account health + QA agent on every account: weekly pacing, anomaly flags (spend spikes, broken tracking, disapprovals), and next-test recommendations.
  • Run AI creative iteration: generate ad and landing-page variants, test them, and keep a human brand and claims check before anything goes live.
  • Lead client strategy calls and bring proactive recommendations every month.
  • Report monthly in terms a GM would use: spend tied to pipeline and revenue, with baselines.
  • Write runbooks so the work does not depend on you being at the keyboard.

What success looks like

  • By day 30: client diagnoses done; baselines and targets agreed; your account health + QA agent is live on your accounts and at least one teammate runs it on an account they own.
  • By day 60: test cycles running on every account; AI creative iteration live on at least one account; monthly reporting ties spend to pipeline or revenue.
  • By day 90: launch-to-learn under five working days; at least one account showing measurable CAC, ROAS, or pipeline improvement vs baseline; a runbook another person can follow. Failure = tests still launched without a hypothesis, baseline, or readout.
  • By 6–12 months: client programs hit their agreed targets; workflows do 70%+ of paid production; you have designed yourself out of the daily build queue.

Evidence we want to see

  • About 5+ years in digital paid media, currently at Senior Manager, Associate Director, Director, or Head scope, and still running accounts yourself, with spend scale.
  • One paid result with the metric, baseline, period, and how you attributed it.
  • One AI workflow or agent you built that removed real paid production work, and what it changed.
  • AI fluency you can show: the workflow's inputs, outputs, and controls, and how you check agent or platform-automation output before it touches spend.
  • Client-facing strategy: examples where you set the plan, not just executed tickets.
  • Steady tenure; internal promotions are a big plus (same company counts fully).
  • Ideal: growth/performance agency, B2B SaaS lead gen, or multi-client experience.

What this role is not

Not a media buyer or ticket-taker. Not vendor management only. Not TV, OOH, or print planning. Not a people-manager seat. Not for occasional AI users. Not a fit if freelancing, consulting, or your own agency is your main work today.
