This role leads the strategy, development, and execution of digital marketing efforts, overseeing the end-to-end customer web journey, digital campaign performance, website experience, digital infrastructure, analytics capabilities, and vendor partnerships. Working closely with Market Development, Creative Marketing, and Web Development teams, the position helps shape how scientific audiences discover, engage with, and convert through digital channels.

Responsibilities

Digital Marketing Strategy & Campaign Execution: Develop and execute digital marketing strategies aligned with organizational goals, audience needs, and the annual marketing plan. Plan and implement digital campaigns across owned and paid channels to drive engagement, pipeline growth, and measurable results.

Audience Insights & Digital Visibility: Leverage audience research, buyer personas, and behavioral insights to inform targeting, messaging, and channel strategy. Utilize AI tools and emerging methodologies, including AEO and GEO, to enhance digital visibility and performance.

Customer Journey & Website Experience: Design and optimize end-to-end customer journey frameworks across digital touchpoints to improve user experience and conversion. Lead website strategy and user experience improvements, including architecture, navigation, and content structure.

Digital Governance & Best Practices: Establish and maintain digital governance standards, SOPs, and best practices for content, SEO, and emerging search technologies.

Analytics & Performance Optimization: Build and manage digital performance reporting frameworks, including KPIs, dashboards, and analytics processes. Analyze website and campaign performance data to generate insights and support continuous optimization.

Vendor & Team Leadership: Oversee digital marketing vendors and agency relationships, including selection, performance management, and contract administration. Manage and develop the Digital Marketing team, supporting performance, technical capability, and cross-functional collaboration.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing or a related field and 12 or more years' experience in digital marketing, including 0-2 or more years' supervisory experience or equivalent experience.
- Experience leading professional-level individual contributors with responsibility for operational execution, performance management, and alignment to organizational objectives.
- Demonstrated experience developing and executing digital marketing strategies, campaigns, and customer engagement initiatives across digital channels.
- Experience leveraging audience research, buyer personas, and behavioral insights to inform targeting, messaging, and channel strategy.
- Experience with website strategy, user experience optimization, SEO, digital governance standards, and content best practices.
- Strong analytical skills with experience developing KPIs, dashboards, reporting frameworks, and performance optimization strategies.
- Experience utilizing AI tools and emerging methodologies, including AEO and GEO, to enhance digital visibility and performance.
- Preferred: Experience supporting scientific, life sciences, biotechnology, healthcare, nonprofit, or other highly technical B2B marketing environments.
- Preferred: Experience managing external digital marketing vendors and agency partnerships.
Benefits
The expected salary range for this position is $140,000 to $150,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience and qualifications as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for additional incentive compensation including regular merit increases and the corporate bonus program.
