The client

Buddy is proud to be partnering with PaySauce; an innovative business that has been cooking up awesome payroll since 2015. What started as a bold idea has grown into a platform delivering the best payroll solutions for small businesses. With a clever platform and sharp eye for security, compliance and ease of use, PaySauce makes it easy for employers to manage the human side of business - from digital timesheets and rostering, through to calculating payroll, banking the payments and filing to tax authorities.

PaySauce is now a 50+ person team generating $9.2m in annual revenue, serving 8,600+ customers and processing over $13 billion in payroll. With a strong foundation in New Zealand, PaySauce is now taking its expertise trans-Tasman, with a focus on Australia's 694,000 micro-businesses.

The role

With demand generation front and centre of PaySauce's Australian growth story, we're looking for a Senior Growth Marketing Manager to own lead generation from strategy through to execution. Reporting to the Head of Growth (AU), this is a hands-on role for someone who lives in the sales funnel, nurtures leads through to conversion, and builds a growth engine that runs on data rather than guesswork.

You'll own the prospect journey end-to-end, from first touch through to paying customer, bringing a genuinely experimental mindset, testing new channels, campaigns and approaches, and backing what works.

The responsibilities

  • Own funnel performance end-to-end, setting conversion targets at every stage and working with BDR and onboarding teams to remove friction.
  • Constantly test new channels, campaigns and approaches, bringing a scrappy, experimental mindset to finding the best ROI.
  • Manage Australia's demand and lead generation strategy, translating regional targets into a plan across paid, organic and lifecycle channels.
  • Own paid media strategy and execution, including running and optimising Google Ads and Meta campaigns, and testing audiences, creative and formats.
  • Build and manage email nurture sequences, automation and lead scoring, ensuring every lead is captured, tagged and nurtured through to conversion.
  • Build and test landing pages for key audience segments across hospitality, retail, trades and professional services.
  • Manage the PaySauce AU website, identifying and fixing conversion drop-off between ad click and sign-up.
  • Own AU growth reporting, connecting spend, channel performance and pipeline outcomes into a single, trusted view.
  • Keep an eye on Australian SEO performance, feeding in priorities to support organic visibility.

The requirements

  • Proven experience leading demand and lead generation for a SaaS, fintech or similarly fast-paced business.
  • Strong hands-on background in paid media, comfortable owning a budget and reporting on ROI across Meta and Google.
  • Comfortable working with lean budgets, finding creative, low-cost ways to test and scale what works, rather than relying on big spend.
  • A track record of improving funnel and conversion performance across a multi-stage buying journey.
  • Confident working with data and reporting tools such as GA4, HubSpot and paid platform dashboards.
  • A solid grasp of SEO and how AI-driven search is changing organic visibility will be viewed favourably.
  • Familiarity with the Australian small business market, including relevant regulatory context, will be viewed favourably.

Why you'll love working at PaySauce

  • Own demand generation for a profitable, NZX-listed SaaS company at the start of its Australian growth chapter.
  • Real scope to build a growth engine from the ground up in a greenfield market of 694,000 micro-businesses.
  • Genuine autonomy to experiment, test and back your own ideas, we want creativity and scrappiness over a desire for big budgets.
  • Work closely with the Head of Growth (AU), with real influence over strategy and direction.
  • A people-first culture that takes care of its team as much as its customers, built on empathy, kindness and genuine investment in its people.
  • A lean, high-trust environment where decisions get made and things get built.
