Senior Digital Marketing Specialist

At East Central Energy (ECE), we're looking for a Senior Digital Marketing Specialist to lead our digital marketing operations and support member engagement and acquisition, and organizational growth across both electric and fiber services.
This role is for someone who enjoys the full marketing lifecycle, from launching campaigns, managing paid media, improving how our website performs, tracking what's working, and turning the numbers into recommendations people can actually act on. You'll manage Google Ads, YouTube, streaming media, paid social, website conversion paths, analytics dashboards, lead tracking, and marketing automation.
You'll work closely with marketing, communications, member services, sales, and operations to strengthen member engagement, support customer acquisition and retention, and improve the experience across ECE's products, programs, and services. A Day in the Life
Your day will center around building campaigns, watching performance, and finding the next opportunity to improve results.
- Running digital campaigns: You'll develop, launch, and optimize integrated marketing campaigns across digital and traditional channels, including paid search, display, social media, video, email, and direct mail, to drive member engagement and organizational growth.
- Managing paid media: You'll handle Google Ads, YouTube, streaming media, and paid social, including audience targeting, keyword research, testing, and budget optimization.
- Improving the website experience: You'll manage website content, landing pages, forms, and conversion paths, and apply SEO, local SEO, and AI search optimization best practices.
- Measuring and explaining results: You'll use Google Analytics 4, Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, CrowdFiber, and CRM tools to track performance, run A/B tests, and build reports that explain what happened and what to do next.
- Supporting the customer journey: You'll manage marketing automation, email campaigns, and lead nurturing workflows that support acquisition and retention.
- Collaborating across teams: You'll partner with communications, community relations, creative and business stakeholders, member services, sales, and operations to keep campaigns connected to the bigger picture.
Success in this role takes someone who's comfortable owning campaigns end to end. You'll need to be just as confident setting up a campaign as you are explaining the analytics behind it to people who don't live in the data every day.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Digital Marketing, Data Analytics, or a related field, plus five to seven years of progressively responsible experience in digital marketing, campaign management, paid advertising, website optimization, marketing automation, lead generation, analytics, or marketing operations, or a combination of education and experience.
- Experience developing, executing, and evaluating campaigns across search, social media, email, website, and direct mail.
- Proficiency with Google Ads, including Search, Display, YouTube, and Performance Max campaigns.
- Knowledge of SEO, local SEO, content optimization, AI-powered search, and digital discoverability best practices.
- Understanding of customer journeys, marketing funnels, audience segmentation, lead nurturing, conversion optimization, and campaign automation.
- Ability to analyze campaign and website performance, conduct A/B testing, and translate data into actionable recommendations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain results to a range of audiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in utilities, telecommunications, broadband, technology, subscription-based services, or customer acquisition marketing.
- Google Ads, Google Analytics, Meta Blueprint, HubSpot, marketing automation, or related digital marketing certifications.
- Experience with CRM and marketing automation platforms, campaign attribution, and reporting tools.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with experience managing multiple priorities across departments.
Additional Details
- Schedule: Monday through Friday at ECE's Headquarters building in Braham, MN.
- Hybrid Option: This position offers a hybrid work arrangement. Our typical approach is three days in the office and up to two days remote, depending on business needs and individual readiness. Hybrid work is not guaranteed and will be based on performance, readiness, and business needs.
