Senior Meta Media Buyer

Location: Remote — United States

Employment Type: 1099 Independent Contractor

Schedule: Flexible, with availability required between 8:00 AM–8:00 PM CT as business needs require

Base Pay: $90,000–$100,000 USD per year

Build Bonus: $5,000 upon successful completion of the initial paid media buildout

Performance Incentive: Up to $3,750 per quarter ($15,000/year), plus a client retention bonus (see Earning Potential below)

Role Type: Senior individual contributor, reporting directly to the founder/owner

About the Company

Our client is a performance-driven digital marketing agency that has historically built its growth on SEO and organic strategy. The company is now investing in paid acquisition and is bringing senior-level Meta expertise in-house to build that function from the ground up. In addition to its core agency business, the company owns and operates two early-stage consumer brands that will also be part of this role's scope.

The Opportunity

This is a ground-floor opportunity to build and own a paid media function from scratch. You'll take full ownership of Meta strategy, execution, testing, optimization, tracking, creative direction, funnels, and reporting — initially across the agency and two owned startup brands. For the core agency business, the primary objective is generating qualified opportunities and new SEO clients; the two startup brands will require hands-on campaign ownership and growth support.

This role is built for a seasoned, self-sufficient operator — not someone who needs a detailed playbook handed to them. You'll diagnose problems independently, make recommendations, build the systems behind the function, and create a repeatable paid media engine. As the function proves itself, there's potential for the scope to expand into building and leading a paid media team.

What You'll Do

Meta Campaign Strategy & Execution

  • Own Meta Ads Manager strategy and execution across the agency and its owned brands
  • Build, launch, test, optimize, scale, retarget, and troubleshoot lead-generation and conversion campaigns
  • Manage both Instant Form and website/landing-page conversion campaigns
  • Own audience strategy, campaign structure, budget allocation, testing cadence, and optimization decisions
  • Monitor performance closely and make proactive changes without waiting for step-by-step direction

Tracking, Funnels & Conversion

  • Own or oversee Meta Pixel and Conversions API implementation and troubleshooting
  • Use GA4 and Google Tag Manager to validate tracking and understand user behavior across the funnel
  • Review and improve landing pages, lead funnels, forms, and conversion paths
  • Diagnose whether performance issues originate in the ad, audience, offer, landing page, follow-up, or sales process
  • Work within GoHighLevel to ensure lead flow, attribution, and follow-up systems support campaign performance

Creative & Direct-Response Strategy

  • Own the creative testing strategy across hooks, angles, offers, messaging, formats, and direct-response concepts
  • Diagnose why creative is or isn't performing and translate data into the next testing hypothesis
  • Provide clear direction and briefs to designers, copywriters, and video editors as needed
  • Build a disciplined, repeatable testing process rather than relying on isolated winning ads

Systems, Reporting & Operational Buildout

  • Create SOPs for campaign setup, launches, optimization, scaling, tracking, QA, and troubleshooting
  • Build reusable templates for campaigns, creative briefs, ad copy, testing plans, landing pages, and reporting
  • Create launch and QA checklists that reduce execution errors and make the function repeatable
  • Build clear reporting dashboards and communicate what the numbers mean and what should happen next
  • Document cross-campaign learnings so successful strategies can be repeated across brands
  • Help establish the operating system needed to eventually train or manage additional media buyers

What Success Looks Like

First 30 Days

  • Tracking is working correctly across active campaigns and funnels
  • Accounts, funnels, landing pages, and existing assets have been fully audited
  • Baseline performance metrics are established
  • A clear testing strategy is in place, with new creative/angles actively being tested
  • Reporting is set up and initial SOPs/processes are being documented

By 60 Days

  • Consistent testing and optimization are happening across the portfolio
  • There's a clear understanding of what's working, what isn't, and why
  • Lead quality and campaign efficiency are improving based on data
  • Core SOPs, templates, and QA processes are operational
  • Leadership is receiving clear, proactive recommendations rather than raw reporting alone

By 90 Days

  • Qualified lead flow is becoming more consistent
  • Reliable CPL, cost-per-booking, customer-acquisition, and ROAS benchmarks are being established from real data
  • A repeatable creative testing process is operating consistently
  • Core tracking, reporting, and paid media systems are documented and dependable
  • The paid media function can scale without requiring the founder to manage day-to-day execution

How Performance Is Measured

Final performance targets will be calibrated from real campaign data, client value, and each brand's economics. You'll help establish the right benchmarks and then be accountable to them, including:

  • Qualified leads and lead quality
  • Booked calls and cost per booked call
  • Show rate
  • Sales / new customers or clients generated
  • Customer acquisition cost
  • Return on ad spend (ROAS)
  • Diagnostic metrics including CTR, CPC, CPM, and landing-page conversion rate

Earning Potential

Base Pay: $90,000–$100,000 USD per year. $90K reflects a strong senior buyer who can run independently; up to $100K is available for candidates who have built a paid media function or managed other buyers. Candidates starting at $90K may be reviewed for progression toward $100K based on performance and scope at the six-month mark.

Build Bonus (one-time): $5,000 upon successful completion of the agreed initial buildout and launch milestones.

Performance Bonus (variable): Up to $3,750 per quarter ($15,000/year), based on client-acquisition performance for the core agency business — specifically qualified booked-call cost and show rate. Starting benchmarks are $400 or less per qualified booked call and a 50%+ show rate, subject to recalibration as real performance data comes in. This bonus is not guaranteed and depends on meeting these targets.

Client Retention Bonus (variable): For new agency clients acquired through paid media who remain active for 6 months, a bonus equal to 20%–30% of one month of that client's management fee. The final percentage will be confirmed in the offer.

Note: managing Meta campaigns for existing client ad accounts — and any bonus tied to those accounts' advertising results — is not part of this role's current scope.

Work Environment

  • Remote, U.S.-based 1099 contractor role
  • Flexible schedule, with reasonable availability between 8:00 AM–8:00 PM CT for meetings, collaboration, or urgent campaign needs
  • Core tools include Meta Ads Manager, GoHighLevel, Slack, GA4, GTM, and the broader marketing/analytics stack needed to perform the role
  • Reports directly to the founder, with a high degree of autonomy and judgment
  • A fast-moving environment — you'll be building while executing and improving systems as the business grows

Career Path & Growth

This role is being hired as the senior owner of a new paid media capability. As the function proves itself and expands, there is a path to broader ownership, including building systems at greater scale and potentially training or managing additional media buyers.

What We're Looking For / Must-Haves

  • Senior-level, hands-on experience managing Meta Ads, with deep expertise in lead generation and performance marketing
  • Demonstrated experience managing meaningful ad spend, including $10K+ monthly budgets, with strong case studies and measurable performance results
  • Experience managing multiple campaigns or accounts simultaneously and prioritizing work without sacrificing quality
  • Advanced knowledge of campaign setup, testing, optimization, scaling, retargeting, audience strategy, and troubleshooting
  • Hands-on experience with Meta Pixel and Conversions API, plus working knowledge of GA4 and Google Tag Manager
  • Strong understanding of landing pages, lead funnels, conversion rate optimization, and full-funnel diagnosis
  • Strong direct-response instincts across hooks, angles, offers, messaging, and creative testing
  • Ability to operate independently, make decisions, and communicate recommendations clearly to leadership
  • Strong work history and evidence of stability in prior roles or long-term client engagements
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Based in the United States

Nice to Have

  • GoHighLevel experience
  • Experience generating leads for digital marketing agencies or other B2B service businesses
  • Experience building a paid media function, creating SOPs/processes, or managing/training other media buyers
  • Experience working in entrepreneurial, startup, or founder-led environments where speed and ownership matter
  • Experience managing acquisition for multiple brands or business models

Remote work — fully remote role open to candidates based in the United States

Flexible schedule — availability-based rather than fixed hours, within an 8:00 AM–8:00 PM CT window

Build bonus of $5,000 for successfully completing the initial paid media buildout

Quarterly performance bonus of up to $3,750 ($15,000/year potential)

Client retention bonus tied to long-term client success

High ownership and autonomy — build a paid media function from the ground up, with direct input into strategy and systems

Direct access to the founder — reports directly to leadership with a high degree of trust and decision-making authority

Career growth path — potential to expand scope and eventually build and lead a paid media team as the function grows
