About the role
The Performance Marketing Manager is responsible for planning, executing and optimising paid digital marketing campaigns that drive audience growth, customer acquisition and revenue across Are Media's Subscriptions, and Membership businesses
Reporting to the Head of Subscriptions & Membership, this role owns the day-to-day management and optimisation of paid media channels including Google Ads, Meta and affiliate marketing. Working closely with marketing, and content teams, the Performance Marketing Manager manages paid media investment, monitors campaign performance and delivers data-driven optimisation to maximise acquisition, conversion and return on investment while contributing recommendations that inform future channel investment and growth.
Duties

Paid Media Strategy & Execution Develop and execute paid media strategies across Google, Meta and affiliate platforms, aligned to business objectives, acquisition targets and revenue goals.

Campaign Management & Optimisation Build, manage and optimise campaign structures, audiences, keywords, bidding strategies, creative and landing pages to continuously improve performance.

Performance Analytics & Reporting Monitor, analyse and report on campaign performance against key KPIs including ROAS, CPA, CAC, revenue and conversion, providing weekly and monthly insights.

Testing & Customer Journey Optimisation Develop and execute A/B testing across audiences, creative, messaging and landing pages, applying learnings to improve conversion and customer journeys.

Budget Management & Media Efficiency Manage paid media budgets, forecasting and spend to maximise ROI, maintain accountability and ensure investment is aligned to performance and business priorities.
Skills and experience
Essential:
- Paid platform Media Experience – Hands-on experience managing Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, Meta and affiliate marketing platforms.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Ability to interpret data and analytics to make strategic decisions that drive performance and revenue growth.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration – Strong experience partnering across departments (e.g. Marketing, Content, Sales) to align and execute strategies.
- Analytical Tools Expertise – Competence in using analytics and reporting platforms (e.g. Google Analytics, media measurement tools) to assess channel effectiveness.
Desirable:
- Budgeting and Financial Acumen – Experience in managing budgets and financial targets within a media buying context.
- Experience in Subscription-Based Models – Knowledge of direct-to-consumer subscription marketing would be advantageous, particularly in understanding customer acquisition and retention tactics.
