Performance Marketing Manager
EverlabAbout the role:
You own Everlab’s Meta and Google Ads accounts. Your job is to turn paid spend into paying members, not just clicks, cheap leads, or a flattering platform report.
This is a hands-on role. You build campaigns, make budget decisions, run disciplined tests, and know exactly what is working, what is wasting money, and what needs to change next. You work closely with Creative, CRO, Lifecycle and Sales, but paid acquisition is yours to run.
We’re looking for someone with 5+ years in hands-on performance marketing with direct ownership of both Meta and Google Ads, and experience managing substantial B2C budgets.
You’ll report to our Head of Growth.
This is a full-time hybrid role based in Sydney. Our team works from the office three days per week.
Responsibilities and Scope
Meta Ads:
- Own day-to-day campaign management across Facebook and Instagram, including account structure, campaign setup, budgets, bidding, audiences, placements and quality assurance.
- Build and optimise acquisition campaigns using broad targeting, Advantage+ tools, and appropriate retargeting and exclusions.
- Run a clear creative testing programme with the Creative Strategist and production team. Define hypotheses, launch tests, read results and scale winners.
- Identify creative fatigue, audience saturation and inefficient spend early, making changes based on evidence rather than constant account tinkering.
- Feed specific learnings back into creative briefs: which hooks, messages, formats and offers bring in customers, not just engagement.
Google Ads:
- Own Google Search and Performance Max campaigns, with Display, YouTube and Demand Gen used where there’s a clear acquisition case.
- Manage keyword research, search terms, negative keywords, match types, ad copy, assets, bidding strategies and budget allocation.
- Separate brand and non-brand performance so we understand where Google is generating new demand versus capturing existing intent.
- Maintain control over campaign quality, conversion goals and spend allocation. Don’t treat automated campaigns as a black box.
- Partner with CRO to keep search intent, ad promise and landing-page experience aligned.
Budget and commercial performance:
- Own daily pacing and weekly budget allocation across Meta and Google within agreed budgets and efficiency targets.
- Scale spend when the economics justify it and pull back when marginal acquisition costs stop making sense.
- Optimise for qualified leads, deposits, paying members and customer acquisition cost, not CPL or platform ROAS in isolation.
- Diagnose performance changes across the full funnel. Know when the problem is media buying, creative, tracking, lead quality or on-site conversion.
- Give the Head of Growth a clear weekly read: what happened, why, what you changed and what you’re doing next.
Measurement and experimentation:
- Work with Martech and Data to maintain reliable UTMs, conversion events, Meta Pixel and Conversions API, and Google enhanced and offline conversions.
- Use CRM and business outcomes to validate platform reporting and feed lead-quality signals back into campaign optimisation.
- Catch missing events, attribution discrepancies and tracking breaks before they drive bad budget decisions.
- Maintain a prioritised testing backlog covering creative, audiences, bidding, campaign structure and landing-page alignment.
- Define success metrics and appropriate test duration before launch. Document wins and losses so learnings compound.
- Use AI to accelerate analysis, reporting, ad-copy iteration and experiment planning, with human review before changes go live.
- Follow platform policies and work with the relevant internal teams to keep health advertising and data use compliant.
What we’re looking for:
- Experience: 5+ years in hands-on performance marketing, in-house or agency-side, with direct ownership of both Meta and Google Ads.
- Scale: Experience managing substantial B2C budgets, with evidence of scaling while maintaining acquisition efficiency. Our existing hiring benchmark is $500K+ per month.
- Platform depth: Deep Meta Ads Manager expertise and strong Google Ads capability across Search and Performance Max. You can operate both accounts yourself, not just brief an agency.
- Track record: You can explain your work clearly — starting position, budget, decisions, results, and what didn’t work.
- Analytical: Comfortable building your own views in Sheets, Looker or similar, and reconciling platform results with CRM and revenue data.
- Measurement: Practical understanding of attribution, conversion lag, offline conversions and incrementality. You know when the dashboard is giving you false confidence.
- Collaboration: Experience working closely with creative and CRO teams, translating performance data into useful briefs and prioritised changes.
- Judgement: Clear communication, sound commercial judgement, and the ability to act without waiting for a daily instruction list.
- AI-native: Active use of AI tools to improve the speed and quality of your work, not replace your judgement.
Nice to have: Experience in health, wellness, subscriptions or another high-consideration consumer category. Familiarity with HubSpot, GA4, Mixpanel, BigQuery or similar measurement stacks. Experience connecting lead quality and downstream sales outcomes to paid optimisation. Experience designing incrementality tests or evaluating marginal CAC at higher spend levels.
