Performance Marketing Lead
PackzWhat is Packz?
Packz is a best-in-class gamified collectibles platform. Open digital packs and watch boxes, get real graded trading cards and watches, and either have them shipped to your door or sell them back instantly.
In just one year, we've gone from zero to one of the leading pack-ripping platforms, and we're just getting started. Hundreds of thousands of collectors use Packz. We're consistently one of the top-ranked free games on the App Store, and we recently reached #1 in Sports Games. We are backed by some of the world's best investors, including those who previously backed companies like DraftKings, AviaGames, and StockX.
We have a small, elite team - this is an opportunity to join early as we build in a $100B+ category.
The Role
We are hiring a Performance Marketing Lead to own Packz's entire paid media stack. You'll report directly to the CEO and have full ownership over deploying a nine-figure annual advertising budget.
We buy across Meta, TikTok, Snapchat and DSPs. You'll decide where every dollar goes, run each platform yourself, and own how we measure what's working.
This is a very hands-on role. You'll be in the ad platforms every day, running a high-volume creative testing program, deciding which ads scale and which get cut, and checking the details that decide whether a campaign works. We've built internal systems that automate much of ad launching, and we keep building more, so your time goes into judgment rather than repetitive setup.
It's also much more than media buying. Alongside the daily work, you'll shape our paid strategy and how we measure it, and decide which channels we open next and how fast we scale them.
What You'll Do
Own the budget and the strategy
- Deploy a nine-figure annual paid media budget across channels, shifting spend every week toward where it earns the best return
- Set performance goals with the CEO and report progress against them
- Open new channels: design the first tests, read the results quickly, and scale or cut.
Run the platforms day to day
- Build out our creative testing framework: we have a first version, and you'll turn it into a repeatable system for what to test, how much to spend on each test, and when a result is clear enough to act on
- Launch new ads at high volume, with clean setup, tracking and targeting on every one.
- Set the thresholds that decide when a test has enough spend and conversions to move into scaling campaigns, keep testing, or be turned off, and apply them consistently
- Turn off losing ads promptly and put more budget behind the winners
- Check every launch before it goes live (copy, links, tracking, placements, targeting and assets) so errors are caught before they cost money
- Keep a clear log of every test: what launched, what won, what lost, and what's worth trying next, so each round builds on the last
Own measurement
- Own our attribution setup and the rules we use to credit installs and signups across platforms
- Find out what each channel really contributes, beyond what the platforms report
- Use AI tools to find patterns in performance faster and turn them into decisions
Work across the company
- Give our creative team specific, data-backed direction: which hooks, formats, angles and concepts are working, and what to make next
- Own ad-policy approvals and appeals with each platform, working alongside our legal team, so every asset is approved and ready on its launch date
- Partner with engineering to extend our ad-launch automation and reporting
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of hands-on direct-response media buying, including mobile app campaigns at scale, with deep expertise in Meta and TikTok
- Experience running Snapchat, X, Apple Search Ads, and DSPs or app networks such as Moloco, AppLovin or Google App Campaigns
- A track record of running high-volume creative testing and turning winning ads into campaigns that scale
- Experience owning a large paid budget across several channels and allocating it based on results
- Strong command of unit economics and performance measurement
- A curious, experimental mindset: you enjoy trying new strategies, channels and formats, and you'd rather run a quick test than debate an idea
- Good judgment on when an ad or channel has earned enough data to scale, needs more testing, or should stop
- Comfort using AI tools for performance analysis, and a habit of looking for faster ways to work
- The organization to keep hundreds of live ads straight across many platforms, and the precision to launch fast without mistakes
- The ability to explain results plainly and turn them into clear recommendations for the creative team
- Comfort working with high ownership and little structure at a fast-moving startup
Nice to Have
- Experience with web-to-app funnels
- Experience buying in policy-sensitive categories such as gaming, fintech or real-money products
- Experience launching new paid channels from zero
- Experience using platform APIs or automation to launch and manage ads at scale
- Interest in collectibles, trading cards, sports or gaming
