About the role

Rhinox Group is looking for an experienced, commercially focused Paid Media Specialist to take ownership of paid advertising activity across our UK and US businesses.

This is a hands-on performance marketing role with responsibility for significant paid media investment across multiple platforms and two distinct markets.

The role goes considerably further than simply maintaining campaigns. We are looking for someone who can understand the commercial objective behind our advertising, identify opportunities, control spend, challenge performance, test new approaches and clearly explain what is happening within the accounts and why.

The successful candidate will take primary responsibility for Google Ads, Microsoft Ads and Paid Social, while helping Rhinox continue to test and develop additional advertising channels as the market evolves.

Rhinox operates within the construction equipment industry, with a strong ecommerce business alongside dealer, fleet and wider B2B customer activity. The role therefore requires someone who is comfortable working with technical products, large product catalogues and purchase journeys that can vary considerably by customer and product type.

Key responsibilities

Paid media strategy and ownership

  • Own day-to-day paid media activity across the Rhinox UK and US businesses.
  • Develop channel and campaign strategies aligned with revenue targets, product priorities and wider marketing plans.
  • Manage and allocate advertising budgets across platforms, markets, campaigns and product groups.
  • Monitor budget pacing and proactively move investment towards areas delivering profitable growth.
  • Identify where additional investment can be scaled profitably rather than working to arbitrary platform budgets.
  • Understand the differences between the UK and US markets and manage them as separate commercial environments.
  • Support annual and longer-term paid media budgeting and forecasting.

Google Ads

Take primary ownership of Google Ads, including:

  • Search campaigns.
  • Shopping campaigns.
  • Performance Max.
  • Brand and non-brand activity.
  • Product and category-specific campaigns.
  • Remarketing and audience activity.
  • Campaign experiments and emerging Google advertising products.
  • Search term and keyword management.
  • Negative keyword strategy.
  • Bid and budget optimisation.
  • Audience, geographic, device and scheduling analysis.
  • Landing-page and conversion-performance analysis.

The successful candidate should be comfortable managing complex ecommerce accounts rather than relying solely on automated platform recommendations.

Microsoft Advertising

Manage and develop Microsoft Advertising across the UK and US, including:

  • Search.
  • Shopping.
  • Performance Max and automated campaign formats where appropriate.
  • Product feed activity.
  • Budget and bidding optimisation.
  • Search-term and audience analysis.
  • Campaign testing.
  • Identifying areas where Microsoft can provide incremental and cost-efficient demand.

Microsoft Ads should be treated as an active performance channel rather than simply a copy of the Google account.

Paid Social

Own paid social advertising, including Meta and the continued development of additional channels.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Meta campaign planning and optimisation.
  • Prospecting and remarketing.
  • Audience testing.
  • Creative testing.
  • Product and campaign launches.
  • Working with the Content and Design teams to develop advertising creative.
  • Reviewing creative performance and feeding learnings back into future asset briefs.
  • Developing and testing platforms such as LinkedIn and TikTok where there is a clear commercial case.
  • Exploring emerging advertising opportunities and new formats without distracting investment from proven channels.

We want someone who is willing to experiment, but who understands the difference between useful testing and simply spending money on the latest platform.

Ecommerce and product feed management

Product data and feed quality are an important part of our advertising operation.

The Paid Media Manager will:

  • Work with Google Merchant Center, Microsoft Advertising and other relevant commerce/feed platforms.
  • Monitor feed health, product eligibility, warnings and disapprovals.
  • Understand Shopify product and variant structures.
  • Review titles, product types, categories, identifiers, custom labels and other advertising attributes.
  • Work with internal ecommerce and development teams to resolve feed or catalogue issues.
  • Understand how product-level and variant-level data affects Shopping advertising.
  • Help develop feed rules and segmentation that improve campaign structure and performance.
  • Work with internal systems and external feed-management partners where required.

The successful candidate does not need to be a developer, but must be technically confident enough to identify when the underlying product data or tracking is causing an advertising problem.

Measurement, tracking and attribution

Rhinox is continuing to develop its first-party measurement and server-side tracking capability.

The Paid Media Manager will be expected to:

  • Measure paid media using commercial outcomes rather than platform metrics alone.
  • Work with GA4, Shopify and server-side/first-party tracking data.
  • Understand the limitations of in-platform attribution.
  • Compare advertising-platform reporting with wider analytics and ecommerce data.
  • Monitor conversion tracking and quickly identify unusual or unreliable data.
  • Work with internal developers and external technical partners where tracking issues need investigation.
  • Understand attribution, assisted conversions and the interaction between paid media and other marketing channels.
  • Avoid making optimisation decisions from unreliable or incomplete tracking.

A strong candidate should be comfortable questioning the data when something does not look right rather than simply reporting the numbers shown by Google or Meta.

Performance analysis and reporting

The Paid Media Manager will have clear accountability for performance.

Regular reporting will include:

  • Advertising spend.
  • Revenue.
  • ROAS.
  • CPA.
  • CPC.
  • Conversion performance.
  • Budget pacing.
  • Channel and campaign trends.
  • Product/category performance.
  • Test results.
  • Attribution or tracking issues.
  • Key changes made during the reporting period.
  • Recommended next actions.

Reporting should explain why performance changed, not simply state that it increased or decreased.

The successful candidate will be expected to communicate clearly with the Marketing Manager and wider business, highlighting both strong performance and areas requiring attention.

Campaign and product launches

Work closely with the wider Marketing, Ecommerce and Sales teams when launching products or campaigns.

This includes:

  • Understanding the commercial objective of a campaign.
  • Identifying the correct audience and channel.
  • Confirming appropriate landing pages and customer journeys.
  • Recommending budget.
  • Briefing advertising creative requirements.
  • Ensuring tracking is in place before launch.
  • Monitoring early campaign performance closely.
  • Making adjustments based on genuine performance data.
  • Producing post-campaign learnings.

Skills and experience

Essential

  • Strong professional experience managing paid media or performance marketing accounts.
  • Significant hands-on Google Ads experience.
  • Strong Google Shopping and ecommerce advertising knowledge.
  • Experience with Performance Max alongside traditional Search and Shopping campaigns.
  • Experience managing Microsoft Advertising.
  • Experience running Meta advertising.
  • Strong understanding of ecommerce conversion funnels.
  • Experience managing meaningful advertising budgets.
  • Strong analytical and numerical ability.
  • Experience interpreting ROAS, CPA, CPC, CVR and revenue performance.
  • Experience using GA4 or comparable analytics tools.
  • Understanding of conversion tracking and attribution.
  • Ability to identify and diagnose tracking or data anomalies.
  • Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of performance.

Highly desirable

  • Shopify experience.
  • Google Merchant Center experience.
  • Product-feed management experience.
  • Experience managing both UK and US advertising accounts.
  • Server-side tracking or first-party measurement experience.
  • Experience with LinkedIn Ads and/or TikTok Ads.
  • Experience working with large ecommerce catalogues.
  • Experience with technical, automotive, engineering, manufacturing or construction-related products.
  • Experience working with developers or technical teams on tracking and feed issues.
  • Experience using feed-management platforms or building sophisticated feed rules.

The type of person we are looking for

We are looking for someone who is commercially curious and takes genuine ownership of their accounts.

The right person will:

  • Question why something is happening rather than simply accepting platform recommendations.
  • Be comfortable making decisions involving significant advertising spend.
  • Spot unusual performance before somebody else points it out.
  • Understand when an account needs restructuring rather than endlessly making small optimisations.
  • Balance automation with human judgement.
  • Be comfortable testing new ideas without chasing trends.
  • Understand that ROAS alone does not always tell the whole story.
  • Communicate problems early.
  • Explain technical advertising concepts in straightforward commercial language.
  • Work collaboratively while remaining capable of managing their own area without constant supervision.
  • Continually look for ways to improve performance.

What good performance looks like

A successful Paid Media Manager at Rhinox will:

  • Maintain clear control of UK and US advertising spend.
  • Know where budget is being spent and why.
  • Identify profitable opportunities to scale.
  • Reduce wasted spend.
  • Maintain strong campaign and account structure.
  • Improve the quality and usefulness of our product feeds.
  • Produce reliable, understandable performance reporting.
  • Identify tracking problems before they drive poor decisions.
  • Provide clear recommendations rather than simply presenting data.
  • Build productive relationships with the Ecommerce, Content and Design teams.
  • Develop a repeatable programme of campaign and creative testing.
  • Introduce new advertising channels where evidence supports them.
  • Develop a strong understanding of Rhinox products, customers and markets.
  • Ultimately contribute to profitable revenue growth rather than simply increasing advertising activity.
