Marketing Video Content Creator

DOPE Marketing | Full-Time | In-Person, Minneapolis | $65,000 to $80,000

This seat covers a piece of video from start to finish. You shoot it, you cut it, you post it, you schedule it, and you tell the marketing team where it stands. Most weeks you'll have three or four of those moving at the same time, all at different stages.

A normal day might be a couple hours of shooting in the morning, cutting an ad that has to be live tomorrow, pulling three clips out of a podcast our founder recorded last week, loading next week's social posts, and keeping the marketing team current on what's ready and what isn't.

The shooting is light and it's a real part of the job, but it isn't most of it. The editing is fast rather than fancy. The hardest part is holding several projects at once and always knowing which one needs you next. If that's the part you're good at, this is a strong fit.

What you'll do

  • Shoot. Ads, customer stories, training content, whatever the week needs. Some of it planned, some of it grabbed because something good is happening and you have a camera.
  • Edit, and edit quickly. Turning raw footage around in hours, not weeks. Cutting long recordings into short pieces. Captions, hooks, thumbnails, the whole finishing pass.
  • Mine what we already have. We have hundreds of hours sitting in podcast appearances, recorded trainings, and Loom videos. Most of it has never been cut into anything. That library is one of the best assets we own and nobody has opened it.
  • Post and schedule. Take what you shoot and edit and get it out on our channels on a consistent cadence. You won't be writing the whole content strategy, but you'll own the calendar being full and the posts going out on time.
  • Stay in step with the marketing team. They need to know what's shot, what's cut, what's scheduled, and what's stuck. Short, frequent updates. Nobody should have to come find you to learn where something is.
  • Build with AI tools. We use Claude Design to generate ad creative and images for our marketing team. You'll have your hands on it. If you already work this way, say so. If you don't yet but you want to, that's fine too.
  • Run several things at once. There will always be more than one project open. Knowing what to ship now and what can wait until Thursday is most of the job.

What we're looking for

Speed and judgment over polish. We'd rather have four good pieces this week than one perfect one next month. You should have opinions about what makes someone stop scrolling, and be able to act on them without a committee.

You keep up with the tools. This field changes every few months. We want someone who's already playing with whatever came out last quarter, not someone who learned an editing workflow in school and stopped there.

You can manage yourself. Nobody is going to build your shot list or your edit queue. You'll get direction on what we need and by when, and then it's yours.

You're organized. Files named properly, footage where you can find it, a calendar that's actually current. With this many pieces in motion, the person who loses track of things creates more work than they finish.

Range. A polished ad and a fast, rough clip that feels real are two different crafts. This job needs both, sometimes in the same afternoon.

What we're not asking for

We're not asking for five years of experience. We're asking to see what you've made.

We're not asking for a film degree, a specific software, or an expensive camera collection. We'll get you what you need.

We're not asking for a demo reel full of client logos. Show us something you made because you wanted to.

What you get

  • $60,000 to $85,000 depending on experience and what you can show us
  • Health, dental, vision, and PTO
  • Real gear and real budget for tools
  • A company that actually ships. We are a three time Inc. 5000 business doing about $30M, and the marketing we make goes out the door immediately instead of dying in an approval chain
  • Room. This is a growing team and this seat is going to get bigger. If you want to own video and content here in two years, that's available.

How to apply

Three things.

  • Your work. A reel, a folder, a channel, a client link, whatever you have. We want to see one polished piece and one fast piece.
  • Tell us what you'd cut. Find any long form video of our founder Dave Carroll, a podcast appearance or a YouTube video, and tell us the one moment you'd pull out of it and why. Two or three sentences. You don't have to edit it, just tell us what you'd grab.
  • A short video of yourself, phone camera, no editing, telling us what tool or technique you learned most recently and what you used it on.

Then: we'll hand you real raw footage and ask you to turn it into something. Paid, and it's yours to keep in your portfolio either way.
