DSG is seeking a Marketing Copywriter to join our Creative Services Team. As a Marketing Copywriter, you will be responsible for writing across marketing campaigns, technical/product content, and internal communications for a B2B distributor serving contractors in the electrical, plumbing, HVAC, waterworks, and onsite sewer & well trades. Partnering closely with the Creative Services Manager, this person will also help shape how we talk about our customers and our value — building messaging strategy, customer personas, and on-brand campaign and customer communications.

A Typical Day in the Life of a Marketing Copywriter at DSG:
- Write clear, engaging, and brand-consistent copy for digital and print assets including email campaigns, social media, website content, product descriptions, landing pages, ads, and brochures
- Collaborate with the Creative Services Manager to bring larger campaign themes and concepts to life across multiple channels
- Collaborate with teams across the company to develop marketing materials
- Translate complex or technical subject matter into customer-friendly, benefit-driven copy
- Proofread and edit copy for accuracy, clarity, grammar, and brand alignment
- Collaborate with design and marketing teams to ensure copy and visuals work seamlessly together
- Optimize copy for SEO, readability, and user engagement when appropriate
- Adapt content for different audiences, channels, and campaign goals
- Maintain awareness of industry trends and competitor messaging to help position the brand effectively
- Support internal communications (presentations, announcements, internal newsletters) as needed
- Develop messaging frameworks and tone-of-voice guides to ensure consistency across all communications
- Adapt voice appropriately across audiences (contractors, internal employee owners) without losing brand consistency
- Support development of messaging strategy and customer personas
- Partner with Creative Services Manager and cross-functional stakeholders (marketing, sales) to translate strategy into language customers and internal audiences respond to
- Conduct light research or interviews to inform messaging and ensure credibility
- Help pressure-test messaging for clarity and jargon before it goes externally
A Successful Marketing Copywriter Typically Has:
- 7+ years of professional copywriting experience
- Experience in advertising, communications, marketing, journalism, writing or related field
- Proven experience writing marketing and advertising copy
- Strong portfolio showcasing work across multiple formats
- Ability to balance creativity with strategic business objectives
- Excellent grammar, editing, and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word
- Ability to work with stakeholders who may not have marketing backgrounds–patient, clear collaborator
