Content Marketing

The PCG Marketing Specialist, Content brings strong writing, storytelling and audience-focused communication to the Creative Services team, helping translate complex business, product and technical information into clear B2B content that supports division priorities, sales enablement and commercial growth.

This role partners with content, design, project management, video, channel marketing and division teams to create consistent content across digital and print channels, contributing ideas, research and messaging that align with customer journeys, brand standards and PCG business objectives.

Additional Information:

  • This position will require up to 10% travel.
  • This role is NOT remote/hybrid. This role will report Sherwin-Williams Cleveland Global Headquarters located at 1 Sherwin Way, Cleveland, OH 44115

Responsibilities

Content Development & Storytelling:

  • Write engaging B2B content that supports PCG division priorities, go-to-market strategies, customer journeys, campaign objectives and sales enablement needs.
  • Translate customer insights, technical information and business priorities into clear, relevant messaging tailored to specific audiences, channels and stages of the buying journey.
  • Develop a broad range of effective content across digital, print, video, sales enablement and customer communication channels, and understand how messaging should be adapted for the audience, channel and business objective.
  • Apply modular content principles to create flexible, reusable content that can be adapted across channels, audiences and markets.

Research, Collaboration & Content Planning

  • Partner with the Content Strategist, Creative Services colleagues, division marketing teams, sales, product leaders and subject matter experts to translate business objectives into effective content solutions.
  • Conduct research and interviews to build understanding of performance coatings markets, customer needs, products and applications, turning complex inputs into credible and accessible content.
  • Contribute to creative briefs, messaging frameworks, brainstorming and concept development, bringing forward ideas that strengthen storytelling and audience engagement.
  • Participate in content planning for integrated campaigns, commercial initiatives, sales meetings and other priority programs, balancing immediate deliverables with opportunities for content reuse and long-term value.

Editorial Quality, Brand Stewardship & Optimization

  • Edit and proofread content to ensure accuracy, clarity, consistency and alignment with AP style, PCG copy standards, brand guidelines and applicable legal requirements.
  • Incorporate feedback from stakeholders and creative partners while protecting the integrity of the message, audience need and intended business outcome.
  • Apply SEO, GEO and AEO principles to digital content to improve discoverability and usefulness across search and AI-enabled experiences.
  • Use available performance insights, stakeholder feedback and emerging best practices to recommend content improvements and strengthen future work.

Ways of Working & Continuous Improvement

  • Manage multiple content assignments with strong organization, attention to detail and accountability for PCG priorities, deadlines and quality.
  • Build productive partnerships across a matrixed organization through clear communication, responsiveness and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
  • Adopt standardized Creative Services tools, workflows and content practices that improve visibility, consistency and scalability across PCG.
  • Demonstrate curiosity and adaptability by learning new methods and AI-enabled tools that improve content development and scalability while maintaining brand and quality standards.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future
  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing or Business
  • Must have at least three (3) years of professional experience writing and developing B2B go-to-market content in a corporate or agency environment
  • Must have experience developing content across digital and traditional channels, with a portfolio demonstrating versatility across formats, strong storytelling and the ability to adapt content to channel-specific requirements
  • Must have experience researching unfamiliar topics, interviewing subject matter experts and translating complex or technical information for target business audiences
  • Must have experience collaborating cross-functionally with marketing, sales, product teams, creative partners and subject matter experts
  • Must have experience managing multiple projects, priorities and deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
  • Must have experience creating digital-first content for websites, email, social media and other digital experiences applying SEO/GEO/AEO usability and conversion-focused writing principles
  • Must have at least one (1) year experience in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Have B2B content experience within industrial, manufacturing, technical or coatings-related markets
  • Have experience supporting integrated campaigns from concept through execution.
  • Have demonstrated experience writing, editing, proofreading and grammatical skills, with working knowledge of AP style
  • Have demonstrated conceptual thinking, communication, problem-solving and presentation skills
  • Have the ability to interpret content and channel performance data, identify actionable insights, and apply learnings to optimize and evolve future content
  • Have familiarity with content management systems, marketing automation or email platforms
  • Have experience using AI and emerging content technologies to support content development, research, editing, and workflow efficiency
  • Have a collaborative, accountable and adaptable working style suited to a fast-paced, matrixed organization
  • Have experience using Workfront or another project management platform
  • Have experience with AI-assisted content or workflow tools
  • Have basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite or design principles.
