Marketing Automation Specialist

Location: Johnston, Iowa (Hybrid, remote 4 day/week) Job Type: Full-time

Why Join Us

Join Premier Credit Union's marketing team, where collaboration, creativity, challenge, and support are fundamental to everything we do. We're a mission-driven organization grounded in "people helping people," with a values-based culture that invests in your growth. You'll sit at the intersection of marketing, data, and technology, with real ownership of the systems that power how we reach and serve our members and the insights that shape strategy and business decisions.

About the Role

Premier is hiring a Marketing Automation Specialist to serve as the technical owner and analytical engine of our marketing team. You'll be our HubSpot subject-matter expert, owning the platform end-to-end: its architecture, data model, automation, integrations, and reporting.

On the technical side, you'll design and maintain the systems behind our marketing operations: multi-step workflows, lifecycle stage logic, lead scoring models, MQL routing to Sales, and a clean, well-structured CRM built on custom properties, custom objects, and association labels. You'll own our tracking and attribution infrastructure, from UTM governance and Google Tag Manager to the data flowing between HubSpot, GA4, ad platforms, and internal systems, and you'll be the person who diagnoses and fixes it when sync failures, dropped parameters, or list logic errors occur.

On the analytical side, you'll build the cross-object reports and dashboards that give leadership and teams across the credit union clear visibility into campaign performance, paid media ROI, and member engagement, and you'll turn that data into recommendations. If you enjoy deep platform work, performance marketing, and data-driven storytelling, this role offers real visibility into how Premier makes decisions at every level.

What You Will Do

Platform Architecture and Data Management

  • Own HubSpot administration, including properties, custom objects, association labels, and naming conventions across objects
  • Maintain CRM data hygiene through property mapping, deduplication, list cleanup, and data governance standards
  • Manage HubSpot integrations and API connections with ad platforms, analytics tools, and internal systems, partnering with IT on data flow and sync health
  • Troubleshoot platform issues such as list logic errors, sync failures, and property mapping conflicts

Automation and Lifecycle Marketing

  • Build and maintain multi-step workflows with branching logic, enrollment triggers, and re-enrollment rules to support lifecycle marketing and lead nurturing
  • Build active and static lists and segmentation using contact and company properties to personalize member journeys
  • Deliver personalized experiences using smart content, personalization tokens, and list-based targeting
  • Manage forms and landing pages, and run A/B tests on emails, forms, and landing pages

Lead Scoring and Sales Handoff

  • Own lead scoring (fit and engagement) and MQL qualification criteria
  • Configure workflow-based routing for clean handoffs to Sales, including deal creation, owner assignment, and lifecycle stage transitions

Tracking, Attribution, and Paid Media

  • Manage paid media campaigns and own UTM standards and campaign attribution setup in HubSpot's Campaigns tool
  • Maintain tracking through GTM, hidden fields, and form tracking, and reconcile HubSpot attribution with ad platform and GA4 reporting
  • Track cost per lead, cost per acquisition, and ROI across paid channels

Reporting and Insights

  • Build and maintain custom and cross-object reports and dashboards using contact, deal, and campaign data
  • Translate CRM and campaign data into clear recommendations for marketing leadership and partner teams
  • Conduct ongoing competitive and market research to identify growth opportunities

Collaboration and Enablement

  • Partner with Sales, Product, Compliance, IT, and Member Services on CRM data, integrations, and process
  • Train sales and member services staff on HubSpot
  • Other marketing tasks as assigned

What We Are Looking For

  • Advanced hands-on HubSpot administration experience, including workflow automation, lifecycle stage management, custom properties and objects, list segmentation, and CRM associations across contacts, companies, and deals
  • A track record of building lead scoring models (fit and engagement), nurture programs, and segmentation logic natively in HubSpot
  • Experience building custom and cross-object reports and dashboards in HubSpot's Custom Report Builder
  • Working knowledge of the HubSpot API and integrations ecosystem for connecting third-party tools such as ad platforms, data warehouses, or internal systems
  • Strong understanding of tracking and tagging (UTM parameters, form tracking, hidden fields, GTM-to-HubSpot data flow) and of how attribution breaks, including dropped parameters, redirect issues, and cross-domain tracking gaps
  • Understanding of attribution models (first touch, last touch, multi-touch) and experience reconciling HubSpot data with ad platform reporting
  • Hands-on paid media experience, including campaign tracking setup and performance analysis
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to turn data into actionable recommendations
  • A systematic, detail-oriented approach to troubleshooting and documentation

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Information Systems, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in marketing operations, CRM management, performance marketing, or data analytics, including significant hands-on HubSpot ownership
  • Proficiency in GA4, Google Search Console, and Google Tag Manager
  • Familiarity with AEO and how AI-driven search affects visibility and traffic
  • HubSpot certifications preferred, such as Marketing Hub Software, Reporting, Digital Marketing, or Digital Advertising
  • Fluency with AI tools for data analysis, visualization, research, reporting, and workflow efficiency
  • Analytical, collaborative, and creatively curious

Nice to Have

  • Experience in financial services, banking, or credit unions, including awareness of marketing compliance and member data privacy requirements
  • Familiarity with CMS platforms (HubSpot CMS, WordPress, or Webflow)
  • Basic HTML/CSS or JavaScript knowledge for email templates, landing pages, or custom code actions
  • Strong skills in Microsoft 365 and project management software

Benefits

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with 4% company match
  • 16 days paid time off (PTO) plus bank holidays
