Marketing Automation Specialist

Mater Foundation is looking for an experienced Marketing Automation Specialist to join the team and lead the delivery of targeted supporter communications across some of our most iconic fundraising campaigns. This permanent, full-time role will be based at our Newstead office.
You will be responsible for developing and executing supporter marketing strategies that drive engagement, participation, fundraising outcomes and long-term supporter loyalty.
A significant focus of the role is email and SMS marketing, including audience segmentation, personalisation, marketing automation and the development of targeted supporter journeys.
As the marketing lead for assigned fundraising campaigns, you'll collaborate with stakeholders across Mater Foundation and broader Mater teams to plan and deliver campaign activity across digital channels.
The portfolio currently includes Noosa Triathlon, Smiddy Cycle Challenge and the Brisbane to Gold Coast Cycle for Cancer, together with a range of community fundraising initiatives.
Salary: Commensurate with experience plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
- Developing and delivering supporter marketing strategies aligned to campaign objectives and fundraising targets
- Planning, building and optimising automated email and SMS journeys through Braze
- Developing engaging content across email, websites and organic social media channels
- Creating digital assets using Canva and other marketing tools
- Managing campaign timelines, stakeholder relationships and project delivery
- Analysing campaign performance and providing recommendations to optimise results
- Supporting fundraising campaigns that inspire community participation and generate meaningful impact for Mater
About you
We're looking for a passionate and organised marketing professional who combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
You will bring:
- A tertiary qualification in Marketing, Communications or a related discipline.
- At least three years experience in marketing, digital marketing or campaign management
- Strong experience in email marketing, marketing automation and customer journey development
- Strong campaign management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders
- Experience developing content across digital channels, including social media and websites
- Proficiency in Canva or similar creative design platforms
- Excellent written communication and copywriting skills
- Strong analytical capabilities with experience translating campaign insights into actionable recommendations
Experience within fundraising, philanthropy, healthcare, education or not-for-profit environments will be highly regarded.
