Reporting to the Creative Director in the Office of Marketing & Communications the Manager, Marketing Content leads the development of recruitment and enrollment-focused marketing content and storytelling designed to engage prospective students and families across the enrollment funnel. The Manager serves as a primary writer for student-centered enrollment marketing content, including campaign messaging, email, advertising, print, social media, and student storytelling. Working in lockstep with the Director of Enrollment Marketing, and collaborating daily with the teams in Enrollment, Admissions and Marketing & Communications, the Manager helps bring Emerson’s brand and student experience to life across channels.
Essential Job Duties
- Write and develop enrollment marketing content across email, advertising, print, social media, and digital campaigns.
- Develop campaign messaging, headlines, concepts, calls to action, and other marketing copy for recruitment and yield initiatives.
- Write and edit student stories, profiles, social content, and other audience-focused marketing communications.
- Manage enrollment-focused content calendars and content production schedules.
- Develop social media concepts, copy, hooks, and scripts for prospective student audiences.
- Coordinate and oversee student content creators, other content contributors.
- Collaborate with Digital Content Creators on social strategy and admissions focused social content.
- Collaborate with the Director of Enrollment Marketing on campaign concepts, messaging, content strategy, and brand storytelling.
- Partner with Admissions and campus stakeholders to identify compelling student stories and experiential learning opportunities.
- Repurpose and optimize content across platforms, audience segments, and stages of the enrollment funnel.
- Use marketing and content performance insights to inform and strengthen future content.
- Ensure all content aligns with Emerson College brand standards and enrollment messaging priorities.

QUALIFICATIONS – Qualifications are deemed required or preferred and represent what is needed to effectively perform job.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, writing, journalism, or related field required.
- 5–7 years of experience in marketing writing, copywriting, content marketing, or storytelling-focused marketing roles required.
- Experience writing for integrated marketing campaigns across email, advertising, print, digital, and social media required.
- Experience developing content for social platforms including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and emerging platforms required.
- Higher education or Gen Z audience experience preferred.
- Proficiency with Canva, Capcut, and Adobe Creative Suite preferred.

- Strong portfolio demonstrating marketing writing, campaign work, brand storytelling, and social content.

- Strong understanding of the social media landscape, platform trends, and audience behaviors.
- Ability to develop compelling messaging and adapt content across channels and audiences.
- Strong organizational, project coordination, and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively across teams and departments.

- Interest in higher education enrollment strategy, student engagement, and marketing communications.

Compensation: $74,500.00 - $91,350.00 annually, commensurate with experience.

This position will be exclusively represented by the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), Local 888 for purposes of wages, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
