Overview:

The Manager, Fan Experience & Social Media serves as the creative lead for the Zebulon Devil Dogz fan experience, social media presence, community engagement, and game presentation. This position develops the promotional calendar, directs game-day entertainment, manages the organization’s voice across social platforms, and builds partnerships that strengthen the team’s presence throughout the Triangle. The manager also supervises seasonal interns and works closely with the front office, coaches, players, sponsors, and community partners to increase attendance, engagement, and brand awareness.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

Promotions & Game Presentation

  • Lead the Promotions and Game Presentation Intern in delivering sharp, engaging entertainment every single game
  • Build the season long promotional calendar, blending themes, offers, food and beverage, sponsorship, and every asset the ballpark has to draw a crowd
  • Keep props, materials, and entertainment elements ready to go before first pitch
  • Own the accuracy of game day scripts and schedules, sponsorship fulfillment included
  • Bring fresh ideas to the table constantly. If you see a way to make game night better, we want to hear it

Social Media

  • Run content strategy and calendars across Instagram, Facebook, X, TikTok, and LinkedIn, with platform native content that actually grows the fan base
  • Move fans down the funnel, from a like on a post to a seat in the ballpark, using real lead generation and retention tactics
  • Track performance and turn the data into sharper content and better results
  • Lead the Content Creation Intern to keep output timely, on brand, and consistent

Marketing & Community Engagement

  • Plan and run community events that put the Devil Dogz name in front of new fans across the Triangle
  • Schedule player appearances and make sure every one leaves a great impression
  • Partner with coaches and players on community service and outreach
  • Oversee mascot operations, scheduling, and booking inquiries
  • Keep the team website accurate, current, and fan focused
  • Protect brand consistency across every channel we touch
  • Build campaigns, including email, that move season tickets, single game tickets, and group sales, with an eye toward advance purchases and repeat visits

Creative Services

  • Design graphics for social, in park signage, digital platforms, and promotional materials
  • Produce motion graphics for social, the website, in park entertainment, and internal video
  • Shoot and produce video from games, stadium events, and appearances that capture what makes this team worth watching
  • Manage creative projects from first idea to final delivery, on brand and on time

The Rest of It

  • Bring enthusiasm, professionalism, and a team first attitude to everything you do
  • Speak up in staff meetings with ideas that grow attendance and the brand
  • Pitch in on stadium setup, decor, and whatever the day needs. This is an all hands on deck front office
  • Represent the organization well at community events and public appearances
  • Help with team laundry throughout the season, players, coaches, and mascots included. Yes, really, and yes, it's part of the job

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in sport management, marketing, advertising, business, or a related field.
  • One to two years of marketing experience.
  • At least one year of hands-on experience using Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or comparable creative tools.
  • Experience managing social media accounts for an organization.
  • Prior work experience in sports.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds for distances of 25 yards or more.
  • Ability to bend, push, pull, reach, and perform other physical activities required during game-day operations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in loud, energetic environments.
  • Ability to work safely around moving equipment and active event spaces.

Work Conditions:

  • The role is performed in office, ballpark, community-event, and outdoor environments.
  • The position requires availability during evenings, weekends, and holidays based on the Coastal Plain League schedule and organizational needs.
  • Work may occur in varying weather conditions and loud, crowded environments.
  • Local travel may be required for community appearances, meetings, and promotional events.
