Marriage and Family Therapist / Professional Clinical Counselor / Clinical Social Worker

Under the direction of a designated Certificated Administrator, provides direct mental health services to students (individuals and groups) with intensive needs, parent counseling, consultation, and treatment coordination to students and families to improve school performance. Assists with coordinating services by providing training, education, and program development to address and implement tiered interventions through a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) framework. This position is expected to carry a caseload of students and collaborate with all stakeholders in building a coherent system of coordinated support within a MTSS framework. Serves as a liaison between counselors, students, families, school sites, support staff, and various community services agencies, with a primary focus on: the mental health and wellness of students, supporting social-emotional goals, and educational access.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination of education, training and experience sufficient to meet the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (CA BBS) requirements for any of the following: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), a Master’s degree in the designated field of study, and two years related experience working with students or families in a social services or educational environment. Experience providing mental health services to students in schools is preferred.

SELECTION PROCESS:
The selection process tentatively includes the following:
Step 1: Application Screening (pass/fail) Applications will be screened for minimum qualifications. Applications will be evaluated and ranked according to criteria that most closely meets the needs of the department, so it is essential that applicants provide as much detail as possible and answer all parts of the application, including work experience and the supplemental questionnaire. If there is a high number of qualified applicants, a comparative screening will be conducted to determine which of the applicants will be selected for invitation to the performance examination.
Results of the screening will be emailed. Applicants who pass the screening portion of the examination process will be given further instructions. Notifications will not be sent until after the closing date for the position.
Additional qualifying experience beyond that required for entry into the class (limited to no more than one step for each two years of experience related to the classification)
Additional education at the college level beyond the educational requirements established for entry into the class (limited to no more than one step for each two years of education related to the position)
All new hires placed at Step 1 of the salary schedule will advance to Step 2 after successfully completing the six-month probationary period.Education Incentives
All active, regular classified employees are eligible for an education incentive if they possess a college degree above and beyond the stated minimum qualifications for their classification.
AA/AS = 2.50%
BA/BS = 4.00%
MA/MS = 5.00%
Ed.D./Ph.D/JD = 6.00%
