Lead Social Media Advisor
About the role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Social Media Advisor with experience implementing social ad campaigns to join the Department of Customer Service Portfolio Social Media team in a full time temporary role from 2 November 2026 to 31 October 2027.
This role is 35 hours per week, based in Sydney, with a hybrid working arrangement that requires
days each week working from the Haymarket office. You will work as part of a high performing and collaborative team committed to delivering exceptional customer experience and impactful social media outcomes across NSW Government.
About the team
The Department of Customer Service Social Media team is responsible for social media
plannning, content publishing, paid activity and customer support across a range of agencies,
including Building Commission NSW, NSW Fair Trading and Service NSW.
As a Lead Social Media Advisor, you will play a key role within the Paid Strategy stream. You will
be responsible for end-to-end ad management: developing the owned paid strategic approach,
implementation, optimisations, reporting and overseeing overall ad performance. You will be
implementing high quality and compliant ads or small campaigns, providing proactive
recommendations and advice, and supporting the wider Portfolio communication plans.
This is a senior role that combines hands on delivery with oversight, mentoring and stakeholder engagement. You will work closely with colleagues across the Portfolio and support continuous improvement in social media practice.

Working arrangements
This role operates under a hybrid working model, with an expectation of working up to three days per week from the office. Flexibility is supported in line with operational requirements.
