About the role
This role leads the execution of integrated media buys across a broad mix of channels, ensuring placements align with approved strategies, target audiences, campaign goals, budgets, and market conditions. The position evaluates media proposals, audience data, ratings, sponsorship opportunities, and vendor recommendations to identify the most effective and efficient investment opportunities, while negotiating rates, added value, and media terms that maximize return and strengthen vendor partnerships. It monitors campaign delivery, pacing, spend, and performance, resolving issues such as underdelivery, makegoods, and billing discrepancies to ensure commitments are fulfilled and documented accurately. The job also collaborates closely with planning, analytics, creative, account, finance, and media partners to optimize campaign results, maintain operational excellence, and share expertise that supports team growth and high-quality buying standards.
What you'll do
- Develop and execute integrated media buys across channels — Lead the execution of integrated media buys across broadcast, cable, radio, streaming audio, streaming video, digital, social, out-of-home, and other approved media channels. Ensure placements align with approved media strategies, target audiences, campaign objectives, budget requirements, and market conditions.
- Evaluate marketplace opportunities and media proposals — Review, analyze, and compare media proposals, avails, sponsorship opportunities, audience data, ratings information, and vendor recommendations to identify opportunities that maximize campaign effectiveness, efficiency, and value.
- Lead media negotiations and value creation — Negotiate rates, placements, added-value opportunities, bonus weight, sponsorship elements, makegoods, and other media agreements with vendors and partners. Secure favorable terms and maximize return on media investments while maintaining strong vendor relationships.
- Manage media vendor relationships — Build and maintain productive working relationships with media representatives, publishers, vendors, and marketplace partners across supported markets. Serve as a primary day-to-day buying contact and facilitate effective communication throughout campaign execution.
- Monitor campaign delivery, pacing, and performance — Track campaign delivery, ratings, impressions, spend, pacing, fulfillment, and performance metrics across active campaigns. Identify issues, risks, and opportunities and take appropriate action to improve campaign results and buying effectiveness.
- Manage stewardship, makegoods, and post-buy performance — Oversee campaign stewardship activities including makegoods, credits, underdelivery resolution, bonus opportunities, post-buy analyses, vendor accountability, and performance reviews. Ensure media commitments are fulfilled and documented appropriately.
- Support media optimization and buying recommendations — Apply marketplace knowledge, campaign results, ratings data, audience insights, and buying experience to improve media performance. Recommend adjustments that strengthen campaign effectiveness, efficiency, and return on investment.
- Manage financial stewardship and reconciliation — Partner with finance, vendors, planners, and internal teams to support budget stewardship, billing validation, discrepancy resolution, invoice reconciliation, and accurate financial management throughout campaign execution.
- Collaborate across teams and disciplines — Work closely with planning, strategy, analytics, account management, creative teams, media partners, and vendors to ensure campaigns are executed successfully and media investments support broader business goals.
- Develop buying expertise and support team growth — Share knowledge and best practices, support the development of Assistant and Junior Media Buyers, contribute to team learning initiatives, and continuously strengthen expertise in media buying, marketplace dynamics, negotiation strategies, and industry trends.
- Maintain buying quality standards and operational excellence — Apply agency buying standards, quality controls, workflow requirements, financial processes, and documentation practices while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency, buying effectiveness, and operational performance.

Qualifications
- Relevant Degree — Bachelor's degree in advertising, marketing, communications, business, or a closely related field, or equivalent professional experience demonstrating applied knowledge of media planning, buying, and campaign execution.
- Budget Stewardship — Demonstrated experience managing campaign budgets, reviewing billing and invoices, and completing reconciliations with sufficient accuracy to support financially sound media delivery for assigned accounts.
- Media Buying Experience — 3+ years of professional experience executing media buys across digital and traditional channels, including trafficking, vendor coordination, pacing management, and maintenance of flowcharts, authorizations, and buying records.
- Media Buying & Operations Certifications (Preferred) — Professional certifications, coursework, or training related to media buying platforms, campaign management, trafficking, ad operations, vendor management, workflow systems, reporting tools, or media execution technologies.
- Media Optimization & Measurement Certifications (Preferred) — Professional certifications, coursework, or training related to campaign optimization, measurement, analytics, audience targeting, attribution, marketing analytics, advertising technology, or media performance management.
