GCU Esports department is looking for a student worker to help create content for the department social media platforms and help support this community. 

Purpose within the Organization: 

In this position you will work with a team to create content elements for GCU Esports on social media platforms. While also helping our competitive teams and community be up to date on everything GCU Esports. 
 

Responsibilities Related to Purpose: 

  • Attend and collaborate at weekly meetings for current projects, planning of future projects, etc. 
  • Attend esports events. 
  • Prepare final digital social media post to represent esports events, community activities, etc. 
  • Maintain an orderly archive of projects and strict schedule for completed tasks. 
  • Serve as a department ambassador and promote the department at events and activities. 
  • Assist with social media or experiential marketing efforts. 
  • Other responsibilities as they apply. 
     

Equipment Used and Responsibility 

  • Microsoft Office 365 – Word, Excel, List, Teams, Planner
  • Adobe Photoshop 
  • Adobe After Effects 
  • Adobe Illustrator 
  • DSL Camera 
     

Qualifications: 

  • Must be willing to commit to 15 + hours a week including weekends and weeknights. 
  • Strong computer and organization skills 
  • Strong time management skills. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Able to use or learn Adobe Creative Cloud programs (Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator). 
  • Able to use or learn DSL Camera equipment and properly store photos. 
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and a team player. 
  • Able to take and receive directions from GCU Esports staff. 
  • Ability to handle fast paced environment and think under pressure.  
  • Passion for marketing strategies for social media platforms. 
  • Preferred knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 (Word, List, Teams). 
     

Experience/Education: 
Grand Canyon University is committed to a student first policy. Therefore, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment: 

  • Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s program or Master’s program. 
  • Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student. 
  • Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University. 

You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements. 

Pay Rate: Minimum Wage 

Anticipated End Date: June 30, 2027
