Email Marketing

Job Summary

As the Email Marketing Manager, you will be the hands-on operator responsible for turning Sorenson’s lifecycle marketing strategy into timely, relevant, and measurable customer communications across CaptionCall, VRS, and Enterprise. You will build, launch, monitor, and optimize campaigns and automated journeys that move customers from lead conversion and onboarding through activation, engagement, retention, and reactivation. Although email will be the role’s primary channel, you will orchestrate coordinated experiences across SMS, direct mail, push notifications, in-app messaging, outbound-call triggers, and compliant paid-media audiences so that each customer receives the right communication, through the right channel, at the right point in the lifecycle.

You will own the operational discipline required to execute lifecycle marketing at scale, including campaign intake and calendars, audience segmentation, eligibility rules, consent and suppression management, contact-frequency governance, quality assurance, stakeholder approvals, documentation, templates, and standard operating procedures. You will help implement and become a power user of a marketing-orchestration platform such as Braze or Iterable, define the campaign and data requirements needed to create increasingly sophisticated event-triggered journeys, and use marketing analytics tools such as Amplitude to understand customer behavior and campaign performance. Working closely with Lifecycle Strategy, Analytics, Product, Customer Experience, IT, Legal, Compliance, and business-line marketing teams, you will establish a rigorous testing and measurement practice and continually improve deliverability, engagement, conversion, activation, retention, customer value, incremental revenue, and return on marketing investment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Campaign Execution: Build, launch, monitor, and optimize email, SMS, direct-mail, push-notification, and in-app campaigns that support customer conversion and lifecycle objectives.
  • Journey Orchestration: Coordinate cross-channel customer actions, including triggering outbound calls, initiating direct mail, and adding or suppressing customers in compliant paid-media audiences.
  • Workflow and Automation: Translate lifecycle strategies and customer-journey requirements into executable campaigns, workflows, audience rules, and increasingly sophisticated automated and event-triggered journeys.
  • Audience Management: Build customer segments and manage eligibility, consent, suppression, contact-frequency, and channel-preference rules.
  • Campaign Quality Assurance: Conduct end-to-end quality assurance and coordinate approvals with Legal, Compliance, Product, Customer Experience, and business-line marketing teams.
  • Performance Optimization: Monitor campaign delivery, deliverability, engagement, conversion, customer response, and incremental impact; recommend and implement improvements based on results.
  • Testing and Learning: Develop test plans and holdout groups, document results, and apply learnings to improve lifecycle performance and return on investment.
  • Campaign Operations: Maintain the centralized campaign calendar, intake process, templates, documentation, naming conventions, and standard operating procedures.
  • Platform Implementation: Support lifecycle-platform selection and implementation by defining campaign, journey, audience, content, and data requirements.
  • Personal responsibility for gaining a working understanding of all regulatory and legal requirements related to your role/work product and ensuring that those requirements are met.
  • Other duties as assigned.
