For a quarter of a century, the Jellycat family have brought joy, wonder and playful fun to people of all ages, in every part of the world. Utterly original and in a class of their own, they are currently among the most loved and collected toys of their kind. How has this gentle tribe endeared themselves to so many? Perhaps it is their whimsical expressions. Or the deliciously soft fabrics. Or the beautiful way in which they sit in your hand. Whatever it is, there is something magical and unmistakeable about each one of them.

As we continue to grow globally, we continue to develop and improve the presence and awareness of our brand. The eCommerce Manager (UK & ROW) oversees daily DTC website operations, calls strategic plays and coordinates cross-functional efforts to manage online sales growth. This role is accountable for UK, EU & ROW’s DTC e-commerce performance, including meeting annual revenue targets and improving key metrics like conversion rate (CVR) and average order value (AOV).

Reporting to the Head of Ecommerce (UK, EU, ROW), you will lead a small eCommerce team and collaborate with global colleagues to ensure our online strategy and content aligns with the brand across regions. The ideal candidate combines hands-on platform expertise (Shopify Plus, BigCommerce, SearchSpring, Akeneo, Google Analytics) with strong analytical and leadership skills to optimize our digital commerce channel.

You'll be;

  • Owning UK & ROW DTC Performance: Driving and delivering against direct-to-consumer revenue targets by improving site metrics. This includes analysing sales trends and customer behaviour to inform growth strategies and meet or exceed online sales goals.
  • Leading the Team & Providing Strategic Support: Supervising and mentoring the eCommerce Analyst and eCommerce Assistant Manager, overseeing their projects and day-to-day tasks. Acting as the right-hand to the Head of Ecommerce (UK, EU, ROW), stepping in as needed to lead initiatives and special projects that improve the website or drive new revenue.
  • Website Operations & Technology Management: Leading and managing the UK, EU & ROW site operations through a platform migration. Ensuring the online store is running properly and coordinating with Digital Product and IT teams to resolve any technical issues. Maintaining a deep understanding of eCommerce systems (e.g. SearchSpring for on-site search and merchandising, Akeneo for product information management) and ensuring these tools are fully leveraged.
  • Merchandising & Content Oversight: Ensuring the online product catalogue is optimized and up-to-date. Working with the eCommerce Specialists (and global teams) to coordinate timely product launches, accurate product data and pricing on the website. Optimizing product content and data to create high-converting product detail pages and a consistent, engaging shopping experience.
  • User Experience & Conversion Optimization: Creating and executing strategies to continually improve the on-site user experience and customer journey, with the goal of boosting conversion rates. Partnering with the Digital Product team to test and launch new website features or A/B experiments.
  • Analytics & Performance Monitoring: Tracking and reporting on key website metrics on a weekly and monthly basis (traffic, conversion, AOV, bounce rate, etc.). Using Google Analytics and other tools to monitor site performance and customer behaviour, identifying areas of concern or opportunity. Analysing data trends to generate actionable insights and propose tactics to improve key KPIs.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Working closely with cross-functional teams including Digital Marketing, CRM, Inventory Planning, Operations, Creative, and Customer Service to synchronize eCommerce efforts with broader campaigns and initiatives. Coordinating with marketing and stock planning teams to ensure product availability for DTC. Addressing trading challenges in real time (e.g. sudden stock issues or spikes in demand) by liaising with relevant teams, so that we maximize sales opportunities and maintain a seamless customer experience.
  • SEO & Content Strategy Alignment: Developing and supporting regional-specific SEO strategy to grow organic traffic and enhance search rankings. Ensuring that site content and ecommerce campaigns are aligned with global brand standards and messaging and collaborate with global eCommerce counterparts to maintain consistency across regions.
  • Continuous Improvement & Industry Awareness: Staying up-to-date with eCommerce industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies. Using this knowledge to keep Jellycat’s eCommerce strategy competitive and innovative.

You'll have;

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience and direct responsibility for an online store is required.
  • Experience in a fast-paced retail/eCommerce environment (consumer products, fashion, or related industry) is highly valued.
  • Proven hands-on experience operating eCommerce platforms like Shopify Plus & BigCommerce with strong knowledge of eCommerce ecosystem tools such as PIM systems, site search/merchandising tools, and content management systems.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret web analytics and translate data into actionable strategy.
  • Experience in Google Analytics (GA4) and other analytics/dashboard tools to monitor performance and identify trends.
  • A solid understanding of digital marketing channels (SEM, email, social) and their interplay with eCommerce.
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices and experience implementing SEO improvements on an eCommerce site (e.g., optimizing page content, metadata, site structure for search visibility).
  • Demonstrated the ability to lead and develop a team, including providing clear direction, feedback, and support.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills to juggle multiple priorities and deliver results on time.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills (essential), this role interfaces with many departments and global colleagues, so the ability to influence and coordinate efforts across teams is critical.
  • Experience managing through website replatforming or major eCommerce projects and familiarity with Agile project methodologies is a plus.
